How many throw away ticketing occurrences should one have a year without worrying about any trouble from the airline, two?

I have one this year and really would like to avoid another - but I don't know at what frequency of throwing away do you get spanked. Two or three would be my guess.

Does it make any difference if one calls in to cancel the rest of the itinerary on the assumption that it will be used later (with change fee of course) and just not use it?

I am at one so far and would like to keep it that way also, but I may have to go to two this year. I wouldn't go any more that that within a 12-18 month period. I don't want to get flagged.

The change fee would be due at the time of the cancel or rebooking?

The Airbus' also fly funny or something which I can't put my finger on what it is that makes me very happy to get off of them. I guess it's like me not likeing 762's but I really like 764's.

Interesting, when started flying and the first two times I was on a 762 the pilot had to do a go around and I was gritting my teeth. 764s are much better to me too. :)

IME at rebooking.

...aaaaannnnndddd I've already driven to PHL and back this morning before work (exactly 1 hr each way). :o Figure I'll be crashing hard and early tonight.

Looking forward to my upcoming trip, even though the "isolated t-storms" will apparently be joining me for the weekend in south Louisiana. :(

Anyone planning to be at EWR on Friday afternoon/early evening (or IAH on Monday around 6 pm)?

I think I need to go sign on with the dude in the middle of the street babbling about the end of the world. I just got a 5-Day EUA for a Sunday afternoon EWR-IAH. The end is nigh.

Yeah, I try to avoid it as well but sometimes stuff happens. I did feel guilty enough to let them know I was missing the flight and to deactivate my check-in status.

That might help, since you are being kind enough to open the seat for a standby or something like that.

I would imagine that the higher your status, the more difficult it is to have CO justify yelling at you. I run a much higher risk than you.

Should be - that would be when you pay the change fee and fare-collect to finish the new ticket process.

I attribute the different feeling to the "drone" of the Airbus.

It also feels different in how it responds in high wind situations, which can probably be attributed to the highly automated cockpit.

I don't know why, but I feel more comfortable on Airbus.
