Couple of bad guys deleted, conveniently on one flight, well away from the US? Nah, no coincidence there. If it were a flight loaded with Americans, that's a different argument. Too good of a target to pass up, I say. Whether it was the French, the US, the British, or Israel I won't say. But whenever something like this comes up, you can bet it was one of those four.
Don't label me a nutcase or a conspiracy theorist until you have read the books that I have read. Everyone thinks that the US-Israeli relationship is pretty much happy-happy, but virtually no one knows that the IAF strafed the crap out of an American seaborne listening post in 1967. The Israelis correctly guessed that the US boat had intercepted conversations that confirmed the commission of atrocities and war crimes, so they killed servicemen and destroyed military property of their greatest ally rather than solve the problem via backchannel. Had they asked nicely, I'm reasonably sure the intercepts would have disappeared. What war crimes and atrocities would they have been discussing? I backup Israel when the questions come to their validity as a state, but we need to be critical of them when it comes to war crimes. They, as much as anyone, should understand the ramifications of committing crimes against humanity. Then again, even if Israel is held accountable, that will not be enough for the Palestinians and they'll still blow up school buses. |

I'm sure that the Israelis do some backchannel stuff, just like the CIA, but I am not sure they have it in them to take down a civilian plane to knock-off a few terrorists. Now, if the plane was carrying Ahmadinejad then we may be on to something.

Then again, even if Israel is held accountable, that will not be enough for the Palestinians and they'll still blow up school buses. The war crimes that were being discussed were the murders of civilians and prisoners of war and their subsequent mass grave burial at el-Arish. What was particularly nauseating was Israel's steadfast refusal until late in the Carter administration to pay settlements to the victims' families or to compensate the US Navy for their destroyed ship. The fact that the US even did get money from Israel ended up being a buried news item, because the same day that Israel agreed to a greatly reduced payout was the day that the Iranian Embassy was stormed. |

Not in that "I told you so" kind of way, but I'm curious to know if I was accurate about the Sheraton. Did you not like it for some (or many) reason/reasons?
Welcome back, ALCO. |

Anyway, I just described this Friday's morning pending on-board breakfast of champions over in the (SkyTeam partner) Lounge: bananas, biscoffs, and bourbon. Any questions? |

Nope. No Colgan for me. The most risk I take at this point is boarding CHQ flights.

Works for me. I'll be standing outside. Just BBM when you're parking.
In other news, I just installed Safari 4. Much nicer than the previous version, although the lack of a new tab button and a recent page dropdown menu still annoy me. ETA: Just found the new tab button. |
