Are there cheap fares to MEX?

Forget the "Mexican flu", I think I picked up the German flu in FRA and it's really killing me. :(

Yuck! Any flu is a bummer! Hope you feel better soon!

Nothing fantastic, but getting into the realm of possibility. ~$300 for a same day turn EWR-MEX-IAH-EWR. Leave EWR at 8:30am and be back around 11pm.

I can get JFK-LAX for $250ish depending on which exact flights I pick, and if my buddy is available I will probably do that instead though it means passing on double EQMs and flu fun. Then again, my wife has the flu right now so I'd be happy to be in Mexico where my chances of picking it up are much lower.

I hadn't booked hotel or car yet for my MR to KOA next week. I'm calling it a MR as that's the intent, although I'm going to the volcano as well. The trip is solely happening because it's 30,000+ EQMs for $600 with me sitting in F. Look at hotels - prices had gone up. Dang. Look at cars - prices had gone way up. Double dang.

Went to Expedia and try "hotel and car" packages. Get many hotel and car packages combined cheaper than I would spend on the hotel otherwise, which is promising. Very promising. Look at different room types and condos with bedrooms are on sale while studios are not. Sweet. Look at different rental cars because there's no way I'm driving a subcompact from Dollar, and there's no surcharge for larger vehicles! This particular hotel package screams "we need customers, stat" and I'm willing to oblige.

Linked to Expedia through Upromise, which means 1% back from Upromise, 1 TYP per dollar, and normal credit card mileage. Saved over 40% and got a far larger room (with parking and WiFi included) by waiting until the week before.

Good work on the bargain-hunting & multiple rebates!

And you can figure out why one has ring on their finger and the other doesn't

Trying to find reasons to travel during the double EQM's but having difficulty with work schedules. Oh well.

Welcome to the box. There are no reasons to travel - you just do it.

Apparently the AmEx forum has decided that the new abbreviation for the Titanium card (issued for Centurion cardholders in the UK, among other places) is "tit" rather than Ti. It is very entertaining to read that forum now. :D

So at least there are some people who can get their hands on "tits" now, eh?

Thanks to sbm12, I have "Conjunction Junction" playing endlessly in my head.:D

I have the entire School House Rock DVD collection (also have the VHS). I ostensibly bought it BL JR but it was really for me.

In other exciting developments, BL JR made me a mother's day card and picture in her Spanish class. She now knows more Spanish than I do.

She also learned to video herself and burn it to a disk in computer class. Again, I think she knows more than I.

My dr. gave me muscle relaxants. I'm not sure how my muscles are, but I am WAY relaxed. So much so that I fell asleep with the computer on me and sweet  BL JR yelled "MOM, WAKE UP ALREADY". I'm voting an early night - at least for me. Plus1 and BL JR can party as late as they want.

The weirdest things happen in Stillwater sometimes. I am currently in the Flight office at the SWO aiport watching a 737 -200 (I believe) doing touch and gos on the field here. I assume that the plane is from the local air force base. I will have to find out.

Just got it confirmed that it is from Tinker or Vance AFB here in OKC. I grew up on an airport and never recall seeing a 737 doing touch and gos.

I wonder what I could use for an excuse. Hmmmm. I love The Figure Eight.

Another "new" 733 to my fleet. :p

Edit: I'm a moron. I forgot to build more gates when I had cash. Now I have planes but no gate, and no cash...

I was thinking of buying my wife a new watch for her b-day. Unfortunately, her b-day is today. I am going to get flowers on the way home (24 hour florist on the way home). I was thinking about going through overstock.com (and getting CO miles or upromise). Any suggestions? I'm looking for a woman's watch in between $200 and $300 a/i.
Thanks for any advice. I am sure my tardiness with her gift will be remedied when the gift arrives.
