This would have been a great time for one of those "weekend getaway" 15K miles+$36 deals...unfortunately, this weekend I can go from EWR to all sorts of far-flung places like YYZ, DAY, GSP, etc. - but not a simple 201 miles up the road.

And honestly, at this point, the travel time would probably be quite close to equal... drive to Princeton Junction/train to EWR/waiting at the airport/1.5 hr flight/subway from BOS to Cambridge=easily 4 hours, and it's about a 4.5 hour drive if you avoid bad rush hour times. NOT worth the $191, in my book.

There's also the bus idea, though. Looks like I can do either Peter Pan or Bolt Bus for a total of about $60 (including the $20 r/t to get to Penn Station) which would make it about a 5.5 hour trip, but I could sleep/work...hmmmm.

Any opinions on the NYC/Boston bus options? I've taken a grand total of ONE in my life, and it was back in 2002...

Bolt bus is good.

  • 1:9 chance they'll be showing non anime p0rn on the TV's
  • 1:10 chance you'll ever make it.

I think you mean you're looking for time. It sounds like you have a reason already. :D

Don't do the $+miles weekend specials. You don't earn miles on them.

I like BoltBus, so much that I joined their frequent rider club. You get a guaranteed "A" BP and a freebie eventually. The WiFi on-board is nice, too. The chinatown options will be cheaper and more entertaining, but also more , just like the CO forum has become.

Working sucks.

Abominable capitalist aircraft. Fit for swine only.

That 752 wasn't the long-range engine variant, but I had two TATL routes that didn't need the legs. Thanks to Pimpslap, I have two surplus long-range 752's. Question is what to do with them.

Certainly not a bad idea. Either that or I have to look into alliance flying.

I sold a bank of 737-300/500 aircraft and combined that with not making a lot of changes recently, and I had 1.2 billion euro to play with. I purchased 8 x 767-200ER aircraft to do some European runs from DEN. Should be cool.
