MBM3,

Did you ever make it to a place called Paco's in Switzerland?
I hear they have one of the most vast Tequila supplies anywhere, and he even makes some non official 'tequila' there in switzerland from local Agave.....I don't know exactly how :)

I heard of it but forget which town.

It's been all-email, and I did email her back to say thank you for the reply, despite that it wasn't the answer I was looking for.

Sorry to hear that.

I downloaded "The Glass Passenger" from iTunes and thoroughly enjoy it. I hear their first album is good as well, but can't speak to the whole thing first-hand.

Check out their site for a preview of their music. http://www.jacksmannequin.com/

ETA - The Canuck and I have dramatically different tastes in music and we both agree the Glass Passenger is a tremendous album.

Further edit - the lead singer is in remission from Leukemia, which heavily influences the songs.

always glad to find something new. downloading now.

Cool. Music is one of those things that's so incredibly subjective, I apologize in advance if I just wasted your time/money.

I also highly recommend the Australian band Powderfinger and their album "Odyssey Number Five". I've never had the recommendation back-fire on me.

I need some new music and spoken word stuff. I'm desperately low on free iTunes material...I have two How Stuff Works playlists that I'm going thru, but that's about it.

No worries! Growing up in Cleveland has been great, both for the local music scene as well as the fact that we were almost always a stop for the great bands in their early days. I can not tell you how many great bands I have seen since my first concert in 1984 and, well, some awful ones as well.

We love live music and have always had some great small to medium venues to enjoy.

Wow, Danny Gans, the Vegas performer, past away.

It's amazing what cleaning all the trash off a computer and reformatting its hard drive (well, in this case the drive that just had the OS and programs on it — data is on a separate drive) will do. My five year old desktop is flying right along now after this morning's project of doing a complete reformat and reinstall of Windows XP. Still getting all the software reinstalled but so far, so good. There may be life in this old thing yet. Which is a good thing, because I'd really prefer not to replace it until next year.

I've done that several times, and other than the major hassle or reinstalling everything. But I agree, the pain is way worth it in terms of extending the useful life of the hardware.

I'm sure you'll be downloading XP updates for the next week ;)

I've been toying with the idea of applying for Clear as I got an offer for free 6 months. I'm hesitant because of all the personal info I have to provide.

Don't do it -- it's a trap. Your initial hesitation should clue you in.

With Windows, a yearly format and reinstall is imperative.

no, not at all. As long as you don't install every freeware and shareware app out there, or you properly cleanup after it, there is no need. I don't even run a live AV protection on mine, it is just a waste if you are careful.
