No worries! Growing up in Cleveland has been great, both for the local music scene as well as the fact that we were almost always a stop for the great bands in their early days. I can not tell you how many great bands I have seen since my first concert in 1984 and, well, some awful ones as well.

We love live music and have always had some great small to medium venues to enjoy.

But what ever happened to Cleveland radio????
Can't stand to listen anymore... For years I've gone to www.kpig.com out of Freedom California. Plays anything from Sinatra to the Dead.
www.bootliquor.com is my back up when the pig stream goes dead.

I'm sure you'll be downloading XP updates for the next week ;)

Haha. Actually the updates are almost done downloading and installing. Fortunately the XP CD I have was purchased in 2006, after losing the original CD. As a result, it has everything up to Service Pack 2, so I've only got Service Pack 3 and a few other updates that had to download and install.

Unfortunately this does not seem to have resolved a pesky network interface card issue this computer has had forever, which causes the card to reset itself every few minutes. My wireless card works fine, and is set as the primary connection, despite the fact that the ethernet adapter is plugged into the router which is two feet away. It's just very annoying and apparently related to a hardware issue in the motherboard that I've never been able to get fully resolved. I was optimistic this might help, but so far, it hasn't.

no, not at all. As long as you don't install every freeware and shareware app out there, or you properly cleanup after it, there is no need. I don't even run a live AV protection on mine, it is just a waste if you are careful.

I knew you'd respond and try to defend your precious OS of choice... :p

It's amazing what cleaning all the trash off a computer and reformatting its hard drive (well, in this case the drive that just had the OS and programs on it — data is on a separate drive) will do. My five year old desktop is flying right along now after this morning's project of doing a complete reformat and reinstall of Windows XP. Still getting all the software reinstalled but so far, so good. There may be life in this old thing yet. Which is a good thing, because I'd really prefer not to replace it until next year.

I recently used PC Pitstop on my parents PC and was amazed at what it found and the difference it made.

I do know several Mac users who have said similar things about their Macs needing a good reinstall every few years. And one good friend who has owned three Macbooks now that have been far more trouble than the two Dell laptops I've had during the same time period.

CLE radio has sucked a$$ since 107.9 went to hip hop, and they were not even that great compared to my college radio station, WOXY - the future of rock n roll.

I only listen to Sirius or my cable radio these days.

One of my friends called from California the other day and bet me that some Cleveland radio station was playing Pink Floyd right now. He won :( .....

Don't get me wrong - OS X certainly need a reinstall every few years as well. In my experience (and that experience will certainly differ from person to person), a properly installed/maintained OS X install "lasts" several years longer than a properly installed/maintained Windows install.

Both Macs and PCs certainly have their share of problems - I know plenty of people that have had hardware and software problems with both. While I may be strictly a Mac (and *nix) user I am certainly not a fan boy and will gladly admit to any short comings that I experience. :)

106.5 Tribe Game Day Weather!

Does that old broad DJ from 104something still cut the rug at Capers in Beachwood every Saturday night?

So?

I wouldn't be surprised by any modern OS running several years without reboots.
