You rang?

The PC was comfortable when we were all there for the DO in February. But perhaps that's because it wasn't hot outside.

I don't believe you. You live in SAN. It's impossible to sweat in SAN. The weather is perfect year-round.

Also, unless you are typing as we speak from a specially built bed, whilst washing yourself with a rag on a stick, then I doubt you qualify as a man-hippo.

I wish the internal revenue code included a direct chat client :D

The Internal Revenue Service has numerous CSRs who are willing to help you with Tax-related issues. A google search generally pulls up a plethora of numbers where they can be reached. I've actually found their service to be superior to that of the BD ICC.

Medicare Subrogation Departments, on the other hand... they definitely get my vote as worst customer service experience ever. I would rather attempt to make a warranty claim on an East-German Built Automobile.

You must've already been drinking when we met briefly in the PC when you were on your way to PTY. ;) And you're right, I don't sweat too much herei n SAN. Just on the rare occasion when high pressure moves the temperature above about 85 or so. But I'm moving to AUS next month so I'll sweat along with the rest of you in the festering pit.

AUS will definitely be a step up in humidity from SAN, and a huge step up in temperature. I remember when I took a group of amigos from the UK to Austin in July. They were dropping like flies, and whenever we walked around outdoors, they scurried from patch of shade to patch of shade like cockroaches terrified of the light. I remember phrases such as "This is worse than effing Malaga!" and "Bloody Hell" being repeated quite often.

IIRC, you're from IAH... so you should be at least somewhat prepared for the furnace. I just remember the summer I lived there that we went nearly a week without the temperature dropping below 90 (even at night). That sucked.

Being able to lay in the direct sunlight in 105+ temps whilst drinking large quantities of beer is an art-form, and near-religious experience. I have found Modelo Especial to be the best high-temperature, full-sun beer in my arsenal. My last summer in AUS, I had a tan that would have made the leather-skinned lady in "There's Something About Mary" nauseous. Probably shaved a good decade or so off my life expectancy that summer.

have you ever stayed in miami or homestead for a week(outside of a resort or 4+ star hotel)? talk about a festering pit, in so many ways!

I think it will be martini time in a few minutes. I really have rediscovered martinis as of late (as if I ever "lost" them in the first place).

They'd drop if they went to MSP in April from the heat.

Worst Florida experience I've had was MCO in May. Hong Kong in June was pretty bad. Even at 07:00am, it felt like I was breathing soup, and any movement outdoors caused you to sweat buckets. Worst overall heat was in Cyprus. Wandered around some Roman Ruins there for a little over an hour in July. I think it cracked 120 in the direct sun (official temps are measured in the shade, and I think the official high that day for Limassol was over 40C).

I recall the day it hit 80 in Edinburgh (the one day in the three years I spent there that it did so). You would have thought it was Armageddon.

I enjoyed many a beer on Calton Hill and Arthur's Seat that afternoon. It was mid-July, and the sun stays up then until about 10:30pm. Very nice.

In Box gardening news, I just treated my Hostas to 10 pounds of Starbucks coffee.* My backyard smells fresh brewed.

*used grounds that Starbucks gives away.

The hottest and most humid environment I have ever experienced was Dubai in July - 120+ temperatures and 100% humidity. The sun was so strong that you could not even be outdoors for more than a few minutes at a time between 12:00 and 5:00 pm.
