We just watched Run Lola Run for the first time in about 5 or 6 years. I had forgotten what an incredible film it is.

Amazing movie! I was sure I wasn't going to like it and Plus1 assured me I would. Like in most instances, he was right :p

Almost 10 years ago, when it first came to the US, I wanted to see it at the Landmark Greenway in Houston. One of my best friends had seen the trailer with me, and he thought it looked awful, and refused to go. As a result, we missed it in the theater. I finally saw it about two years later on DVD when I rented it at Blockbuster one Friday.

There's a cinema here in Atlanta, the Landmark Midtown Arts Cinema, that has a Run Lola Run poster hanging in its lobby (interestingly, it's a French poster for a German film) and every time we're in there, we both comment on it and say we really should get it on DVD. Last Saturday we went there to see The Wrestler (another amazing movie) and once again saw the poster and said we really should buy it on DVD. So, after we got home, we checked Amazon, found that it was pretty cheap, and my partner added it on to an order of a couple of other items he wanted. It arrived this week, so after dining on sushi tonight, we came home to watch it. And now I'm quite glad we own it, as it really is one of those movies we'll watch on a lazy weekend evening at least once a year.

I think it's one of those movies that the trailer probably couldn't do justice to. We watched at least once a year at first but it's been over a year since I've seen it (perhaps Plus1 has seen it more recently).

SNL is really lame tonight.

Yeep. Offered UFC today for UA863 (SFO-SYD, which I'm currently sitting on) for $999. Yeep, you read that right: $:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I splurged and got a tempurpedic pillow. Which seems to lack the critical ability to work, mind you. So yeah, the back will hurt in addition to the credit card statement.

What do you suggest , I can always use suggestions .
He works at the Park Hyatt ?
I believe we are staying at the Hilton Puerto Madero, Im not too happy with the SPG situation there.
I usually stay at the Hilton, Hotel Madero (used to be Sofitel branded), Lois Suites Recoleta , and I have also stayed at the Cesar Park and the Faena .

I only stayed in one hotel in Bs. As., and that was for my wedding night, at a "boutique" hotel in Palermo, so I can't say much about hotels there. But besides tha ones you named, I would also consider the Sofitel at Posadas St.

Yup, my brother works at the Park Hyatt, something administrative in their food and beverages division (he has an MBA specializing in Hospitality Management).

I would add to your list, if you like museums, the MALBA, on Figueroa Alcorta. If you guys are interested in wines, check out Gaucho 2k's place. He hangs out by the Buenos Aires thread here in FT. Make sure you guys eat like Argentinians, and skip the Lomo for a good Bife de Chorizo or Ojo de Bife (I like a place in Palermo called La Cabrera, for pretty good food for a pretty good price!) and you should definitely eat Mollejas! For non-asado stuff, I love Chiquilin de Bachin, behind the Paseo La Plaza, on Av. Corrientes...

What kind of stuff do you like to do? I can probably suggest more...

P.S.: Sorry for the delay, I've been internet challenged for the last couple days...

Why did I ever think that doing BWI-IAH, at 5:30 AM, on the night that we "spring forward" was a good idea?????

Ok, just 10 more minutes and I get to leave the house and drive for 40!

I'm back

I felt like I was doing a MR Thursday night. Hopped on the 6:35pm flt to IAH, checked into the Marriott IAH for 4 hours of sleep, got on the first flight to CLT and arrived at the hospital bedside of my dad by 11am Friday.

The nurse said that my dad was doing better, although I thought he looked horrible. Of course wearing an oxygen mask doesn't help and the fact that he doesn't speak anymore made our visit difficult. He was aware that we were there and in fact did managed to say something to my daughter. We returned later that afternoon to say goodbye and he waved to us.

This morning my sister emailed and said that Dad was getting better. The breathing mask had been removed and the doctor was pleased with his progress and even spoke about when he might be discharged.

One of his problems was with his heart beat/rhythm, that they were controlling with meds. Well today his heart just basically gave out. Since he had a DNR order, he died peacefully and quietly. His wishes are to have his ashes scattered in Hawaii, which we will do in the summer.

Thank you for all of your kind thoughts.

All the best to your family as you grieve during this time, I am glad you were able to see him as brief as it was before he passed.
