Does it matter whether I exchange my Canadan curreny or my US currency into Euros for my trip to FCO? I have a few hundred of each laying around. Is there some advantage? (you can tell I'm no finance whiz kid)

I like aisle seats, she likes windows. I'm going to give her the seat in F on this flight and I'll sit in whY. I saw on the seat map a primo aisle seat opened up but I can't change the stupid seat because I split the PNR and never got her new record locator.

I called up and the agent said "we can't move that person to an exit row seat because they are not Elite." I explained the situation and they told me no way, no how.

I'm already planning for what stuff would need to go to my (potential) new office; the relocation would require commuting (as opposed to current office) yet still make the quality of life better.

I'd personally exchange the US dollar as it is expected the US dollar will fall against both the CAD and Euro.

Try calling again and see if you get the same response.

And if that fails...

Book another res and grab the seat and have them swap it at the airport and refund the new ticket.

Which is why you put the non-elite in the seat that whoever is going to stay in coach will want. Much like the guy complaining about not being able to change from Y to J on the reward yesterday I understand the frustration, but the answer/solution is really not that hard and is discussed here a lot.
Converting CAD=>EUR in the USA will likely get you a pretty craptacular rate, worse than the USD=>EUR. Unless you're dealing with large quantities of cash, however, the buck or two difference that you'll get over time with the predicted ebb and flow of the markets really isn't going to make much of a difference.

Still, I'd get rid of the CAD unless there are plans to head back there sometime soon.

Sounds like it was a seat that opened up later, after the PNR was split, not when the original booking was made.
