Here's the kicker: you can see over the steering wheel.

And have a credit card to actually rent the vehicle.

I believe I belong to every car program there is. I don't like to wait in line and I never know when I might need to rent from them. I've been Hertz 5 star for the past few years, but feel that's gotten me zilch. I rent from Dollar whenever I'm in MCO because it's on site and try to avoid Avis whenever I possibly can.

Any of the UA knowledgeable folks feel like giving me a 30 second course in how to search for and book a p.s. C seat using a CR-1 from a cheap-o fare?

I need to get out to California, I have two CR-1s and I have no real need for the OP EQMs if I can get something better for the price.

If they are electronic, just go to united.com and hit "more search options" on the bottom left. Under upgrades, choose Regional Upgrade, put in the dates and the website will show you the availability.

If they are paper, search the same way and call united and tell them the flights you want where you see availability.

My "can't turn the radio quick enough" is anything sung by Stevie Nicks.

I am totally sick of these songs. I also never want to hear another song by Elton John, Journey and Stevie Wonder. Too much air time.

I actually like hearing Rush songs as they didn't get much playing time in Hawaii when I was growing up.

So then what does this mean?

Please note that "upgrade eligibility" does not confirm or guarantee the availability of an upgrade seat.
Is it just that the fare I'm buying is in the correct bucket? Or are they playing a CYA game?

I just spent the last hour or so on LinkedIn updating and tweaking various things. You certainly do find out either who your friends are or who cares enough to lift a finger...only one non-FTer out of my 84 connections sent any kind of :D regarding the new job. I'm not saying that the world has to pause and congratulate me, but I did work around most of these people for several years. They couldn't have all been excited to see me go.

How many car rental club memberships does she have? I only have two ...

I only make an effort to accrue in one program, and that's Thrifty. They have not done wrong by me in any major way, the cars are nicer than anything I've seen at Avis or Hertz, and 16 days equals one free. It doesn't get much simpler than that.

Bite the bullet and fly her up. The ticket price lost could be gained in a job, as opposed to her not being considered further because of possibly miffing the director.

It's also probably deductible as a job-hunting expense.

I should have kept a better accounting of what I spent toward employment while unemployed. I don't think I've ever made enough for itemizing to be a smart thing for me, but I like doing whatever I can to boost the refund.

Wirelessly posted (Samsung Omnia: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320))

Let's keep our fingers crossed for a BUMP on 6/8 CO657/1689/327. It looks as if CO657 PHL-IAH might be my best shot at some BUMP LOVE.

Now lets hope the agent is nice there and willing to play with my reroute on two separate records. Last time I was there the agent seemed very angry to be working.

CR1s can upgrade in any bucket. If it says "upgrade eligible", there are upgrades available on that flight. I would just give them a call and check how many seats are available for upgrade, then purchase immediately online with the agent still on the phone and then have the agent upgrade you then and there.

My flight back to LAS was not delayed, which means that I am stuck in Houston for the night.
