Random (and useless :)) question of the day...

Is it rude to scan your own boarding pass when boarding? I feel weird handing it to the GA to scan when I could easily pass it below the scanner myself. Thoughts?

I did that once in IAH and proceeded to get scolded by the gate agent. Of course, this was after many times of doing it on my own. Needless to say, since the scolding, i've stopped on CO. UA on the other hand is different, they are pretty good about it.

Gotta love it when SFO closes one out of two runways down causing flights to be delayed 30-45 minutes in arriving last night.

+1 That was a big pain. My MR kept getting disrupted this week because of that.

That sounds like a brilliant idea. :)

I'm just hoping that the W Seoul does not  at me when we show up at 6:30a to check in.

I would make sure to contact the hotel in advance and let them know. Anytime i've had early arrivals and let the hotel know, they have always accommodated.

Great advice, thanks! I will shoot them an email with our ETA.

Since FireWire really doesn't apply to me, as everything I own is USB, did I miss anything of importance (to me, anyway) from the Mac announcements?

Hilarious! I laughed out loud at this one!

Comcast is beyond . They sent me some new equipment which I hooked up over the weekend - everything worked fine. This morning, random channels were suddenly displaying a black screen with a service interruption message. The signal levels to the new boxes are fine but they still want to send out a technician. I despise cable technicians.

Top three reasons to leave New Jersey: taxation, lack of personal freedom, and Comcast.

There aren't many states without Comcast these days...

My worry of my plane disappearing is right above my concern about being abducted by aliens.

My area of Tennessee meets all three of those characteristics (in the non-Jersey way). The local franchisee (Charter) even sends me a few restaurant gift cards per year - using one at the moment.

Above? Alien abduction is more plausible, IMO.

My territory was just today temporarily expanded to the entire East Coast. And my mother seems to have heard something about an explosives tech job that would not require going overseas. As much as I'm not a fan of it here, I don't see myself leaving anytime soon.

Oops!

Now I understand why Charter is bankrupt!:p

He's eminently qualified to do so.

Racquetball is a blast - we've played doubles where I was the smallest of the four individuals on the court ... Today was almost two hours for three games (one brief water break while re-setting the lights; timer is for an hour).

I had a miserable flight down to SAT this afternoon.

(1) I didn't get an EUA - what's with that!!!!

(2) the FAs were really grumpy - and I mean really grumpy

(3) the cabin was absolutely freezing, and even though many of us asked nicely if it could be warmed up, the old grumpy guts just yelled at us that "no, it can't, it's broken"; how surprising, though, that about 30 minutes before we landed, it suddenly warmed up!!

(4) the FA threw ice all over me when she grumpily tried to throw it into a cup, and she didn't even apologise. (So I just threw it on the floor and gave a rather loud "harumph" and  to my seat mate in 12E

(5) I had to drink a cup of coffee to get warm and I HATE coffee (but CO tea is even worse)

(6) the flight was almost 100% full (not that that really affected me, but hey, if I'm complaining, why not find more things to whine about ) :D

(7) and, to top it off, I'm stuck here at the miserable Embassy Suites, SAT airport - yeugh!

OK. rant off!!
