I can see where you heading with that but along the same vein, buying multiple airline tickets without intention to fly on the majority of them is also the norm, especially with full fare tickets.

However if we assume one is not doing it to an excessive amount (i.e. daily/weekly), than I doubt motive would be easy to establish as booking multiple refundable tickets is considered a standard practice. (For example a business executive might reserve multiple itineraries during the day without knowing which one s/he'll need to take until a client confirms an engagement, the bosses schedule firms up or a meeting wraps up early.)

Anyways, one would think that once or twice a year this would not raise any red-flags; once or twice a week? That one might.

There was not much there...and quite frankly I wish I could get a refund for the 2mins of my life spent reading it.

That certainly is correct. My post was actually referring to those who might be thinking of making a practice of harvesting the bump vouchers in that manner. :rolleyes:

As far as the multiple reservations scenario is concerned, I have been as guilty of that as any. When you don't know how long the meeting is liable to take we all do it, but even if an airline knows you are doing it, they are generally happy to accommodate you since you will one way or the other be flying with them on the fare that they love you to buy. If not, just make each res on a different airline and you will be sure to get home that evening. :)

I've got nothing today. Just came from the mall, where I think the smarmy and arrogant Mac genius who still had trouble growing a full beard actually did a remarkable job of answering my questions. One of my pet peeves is the use of "I digress", and this pipsqueak did it a lot, but I have to give him credit for having a great canned speech that really did answer my questions before I asked them.

I really hope the pilot union as a whole gets their asses handed to them in the next round of talks. For as much as that would not benefit us as the flying public, .........s like Golf Thread Boy really need to be taken to the woodshed and beaten. I respect and envy the fact that they are good enough at what they do to perform it at the high level that they do, but they are going about garnering support for their cause in the wrong place and in totally the wrong fashion. Is it my mistake, or was FT, thanks to Do IV, the target of union ire only a few months ago...and now they think that they can post on here and make their rallying cry louder??? Did I miss something? On a related note, I do find it kinda funny that a site that leans as far to the left as FlyerTalk does is one that has developed a habit of giving unions a cold shoulder. Irony is quite the device.

I need to take my MacBook Pro in... I updated OS X and added a VPN connection and now it sporadically drops the wireless signal. Don't really know what's going on.

The GA asking for help on the significantly-overbooked situation was confident that would clear out in today's three remaining flights - I was at the attached gate.

I'm thinking that a new-gen MacBook and the DVI connector that runs to a non-Apple large flat-panel monitor might be the way I'm leaning.

735 for sale in 2.0 - bought it for a purpose that another airline beat me to the punch on...roughly 5% below sticker.

I am going with the MacBook but I may get the Apple flat-panel or a large widescreen Dell.
