I just read Golf Thread, Part Deux. Sorry I missed it. |

OTOH, the practice of buying the Y ticket without any intention of traveling would almost certainly be considered fraudulent...
However if we assume one is not doing it to an excessive amount (i.e. daily/weekly), than I doubt motive would be easy to establish as booking multiple refundable tickets is considered a standard practice. (For example a business executive might reserve multiple itineraries during the day without knowing which one s/he'll need to take until a client confirms an engagement, the bosses schedule firms up or a meeting wraps up early.) Anyways, one would think that once or twice a year this would not raise any red-flags; once or twice a week? That one might. |

Thought about trying to take a pic with the iPhone but could not get it to work (they kept coming out blurry as I could not hold the phone steadily without giving away what I was trying to do...plus I think one of them had a bassoon. A bassoon! And as to how that got through the TSA I'll never know.
But anyways, I guess they dropped enough F-bombs to the point where they got a cart and scooted off too catch their flight at C-17, to LGA IIRC. Yeah...been an interesting MR this weekend (TPA-DFW-ONT-DFW-DCA-DFW-ONT (currently) DFW-TPA); had a lady completely freak out, started screaming, flapping her arms, rocking in her seat...the whole 9 yards, when she thought her husband died in flight (it turns out he was only sleeping...guess people tend to do that from time to time.) Last night when I got to my room at the Sheraton there was a guy already in my bed when I got to the room...guess it's a new *W gold benefit, now if I could only figure out how to update my sexual preference at spg.com. But even stranger than that, the Sheraton was actually decent, the bed uncomfortable and the room decorated with something resembling this decade. AA land is bizarre. |

As far as the multiple reservations scenario is concerned, I have been as guilty of that as any. When you don't know how long the meeting is liable to take we all do it, but even if an airline knows you are doing it, they are generally happy to accommodate you since you will one way or the other be flying with them on the fare that they love you to buy. If not, just make each res on a different airline and you will be sure to get home that evening. :) |

I need to read this thread more often, what with musical midgets, premature death, and the cross referenced "golf" thread, I am still laughing! :D
I've got nothing today. Just came from the mall, where I think the smarmy and arrogant Mac genius who still had trouble growing a full beard actually did a remarkable job of answering my questions. One of my pet peeves is the use of "I digress", and this pipsqueak did it a lot, but I have to give him credit for having a great canned speech that really did answer my questions before I asked them. I really hope the pilot union as a whole gets their asses handed to them in the next round of talks. For as much as that would not benefit us as the flying public, .........s like Golf Thread Boy really need to be taken to the woodshed and beaten. I respect and envy the fact that they are good enough at what they do to perform it at the high level that they do, but they are going about garnering support for their cause in the wrong place and in totally the wrong fashion. Is it my mistake, or was FT, thanks to Do IV, the target of union ire only a few months ago...and now they think that they can post on here and make their rallying cry louder??? Did I miss something? On a related note, I do find it kinda funny that a site that leans as far to the left as FlyerTalk does is one that has developed a habit of giving unions a cold shoulder. Irony is quite the device. |
I wish these Alpo people would stop with the shenanigans here already.

I'm thinking that a new-gen MacBook and the DVI connector that runs to a non-Apple large flat-panel monitor might be the way I'm leaning.

735 for sale in 2.0 - bought it for a purpose that another airline beat me to the punch on...roughly 5% below sticker.
