And it doesn't look good through other hubs - on the day I'm flying, all CO flights into MSP are on good ol' 50 seaters. 5 to IAH, 5 to EWR and 3 to the hublet. Now I see why you CO folks  them so much.

Long gone are the days of NW DC-10's on that route.

We're in the good ol' days now with ERJs from CO and NW/DL is running DC-9-30s on the route.

What day of the week are you flying?

I've done MSP-IAH on the ERJ more times than I can count. Honestly, it never was that bad. But I always had an exit row seat, and my Thursday night flight home from MSP was never more than about 60% full – usually more like 40-50% full. With the exit row seat, a fully charged laptop battery, and a handful of drink coupons, it wasn't a bad flight at all.

Now that I think about it, ERJ's are more comfortable than the 10's. Back when I was in them all the time the lovely orange and brown seat covers and the 29" seat pitch or something like that and the old style tray table support arms that stuck out even more making it worse so my knees were just pressed into them if the person infont reclined the seat ever so slighly.

Ok Box, question for you:

I have an award ticket MSP-EWR-MSP in a few months. My return flight (on a 737-300) has been changed Delta-style to an ERJ-145.

Given that I'm not a fan of RJs on 1000+ mile flights, is this cause for a refund of miles? I know it would be on Delta (since it's a change of operating carrier...), but not sure on CO rules...

I'd keep it. A huge downgrade like that could do wonder for bumps.

And a few E-175s. I have a EWR-MSP flight coming up that is a E175.

A very wise point, though I do need to be at work the next morning. Currently Y9B9H9Q7, everything else zeroed out...

And it is in October - not exactly peak travel season.

Fortunately for me, I was never in the back of a DC-10.

That's what I'm on (I think) heading out to EWR on this trip, and most likely what I'll be taking to EWR the following week (leaning toward flying into EWR again, but LGA is tempting as well).

That's how I got the voucher to go to DO IV.

The miles I used for this trip (partially) came from DO IV. Oh DO IV - fun times.

I was not a fan of the DC-10. Their old 2-2(gap)2-2 configuration was nice.

The DC-10 was the first time I ever sat in international business class. Albeit a domestic flight.

Oh the days of DC-10s in BusinessFirst on MCO-EWR and being served the choice of roasted chicken breast or lobster. Those were the good ol' days.
