Good Morning-ish Box and greetings from the KLM Crown Club at AMS.

It's a nice spot, particularly the pour-your-own champagne. I haven't fully explored but it looks to have the makings of a Continental breakfast (I think i spotted meat and cheese) and sleeper-rooms.

This is my first time in AMS, why didn't anyone tell me it was so huge? I've got like 4 hours here so plenty of time to explore. I can't decide if the walk-time signs are helpful or are simply dismaying. I got off at C and had to go all the way to G. At some point I need to venture out of the lounge and shop a bit - burn my last few euros.

The KLM flight was pleasent and my first time on a Fokker. Also, the boat from Venice was less stressful and eventful then predicted, but certainly not expedient. I used business bag check at VCE thankfully since the bag check area there is generally a mess. Anyone else i knew on the flight made it to the gate after boarding had begun and we got to the airport in what should have been plenty of time.

If anyone wants photos from the lounge let me know - my webcam seems to be working today and i can just point my laptop in the direction of interesting things.

That would be me. :D

So far, I have yet to find an aloft where the eye candy hasn't been good.

That really is not the primary task of human resources. In fact, a significant amount of an HR office's time is spent trying to keep the organization out of trouble and make sure that managers all over the organization stay compliant with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as dealing with a large variety of benefits questions and issues that come from employees. Yes, there are complete and total idiots, and total b!tches, that work in HR. I've seen them. But I also work with HR and payroll professionals all over the US in my job, and I can assure you that the majority of them are very highly qualified, and are doing a job that's far more complicated than a scanner of résumés. The recruitment side of HR tends to be the entry level position into the field, and often it's not as much the case that a recruiter is dumb or lazy, just that they are young, less experienced, learning on the job, and dealing with an enormous work load that never ceases. However, for the most part, the HR professionals I see every day are very focused on assisting the employees of their organization, friendly, and are experts in the maze of rules and regulations that they are responsible for dealing with, as well as being experts at trying to keep everyone else in the organization in line.

Fair points all. Like so many other things, Atlantic City has altered my view on things in a way that is not for the better. I hated dealing with the clueless generalists that the casinos employed, and my ongoing battle with the *Wood computer system (and granted, an overpopulation of unemployed people with my specialties) have really put a bad taste in my mouth.
