After CO transitions to Star, which carrier would you pick for a J redemption to JNB/CPT? LH, SA, VS or EK?

I would say, in order of preference: EK, VS, LH, SA. Though the Otter may have an opinion.

When the A380 was coming to JFK it was a no brainer EK, now I would have to think about it, SA has a nonstop JFK-JNB flight so it would make the most sense and their product in J is good. They have no F.
EK would have more confortable seats, but VS would give me the most haircuts:D
LH would be my last choice in C

Travel Journal - Day 30 Something - July 4th

I miss the USA. Perhaps it's a bit of ingrained patriotism or a simple love of fireworks spectaculars, but I'm "over" Europe and ready to go home soon. I'll take 24 hour walmarts over skimpy-serving gellato stands on every corner any day - and while the metro is convienent I like to travel in a car with air conditioning, comfy seats, less then 300 people, and a bose stereo system.

I'm thinking a little bit ahead of myself here, but when the times comes I think I'll look in to VS on the way there (with a few days in London) and EK on the return. SA's product looks pretty nice (fozz, I'm surprised they were last on your list) and the FM line would be cool so that would definitely be a consideration.

If you combine EK and VS it bumps the award requirement.

I guess that would force me to do either VS/SA or EK/SA.

I'm seriously thinking about using some CO miles for a trip on EK to SA...seems like a good use of 120k miles if I can get EK metal each way. Flights out of YYZ seem doable, and will really be nice post-Star since I can take AC to get to YYZ...
