I would think that any place ran by someone who got offended when specifics about a job were inquired upon would be a crappy place to work. But that's just me.

The easy way is to simply ask: "What is the salary range for this position? And is health insurance provided?"

If the director is asking her to come back for a second observation/interview, then I don't think that such questions are out-of-bounds. Particularly if the director knows that she is currently not living in or around NYC. If the director finds such questions to be offensive...well, perhaps then it isn't a school worth working at.

These are common questions in the job hiring process. The answers for the benefits should be straight forward (unless it is a very small business). As for salary, the answer will almost always be towards the lower end of the spectrum.

Ahhh thats why I didnt see it - I will have a look for what days. I was toying with NRT-GUM-ISLAND HOPPER-HNL-CONUS but had a hard time finding a DL or NW flight from HNL.

ETA: T, W, F, Sun around labor day weekend when we are thinking of going.

We're done with the show in ACY. Now on the way back to civilization.

Can anyone recommend a decent place to eat within 5 minutes of the GSP north on ACE?

On a completely shift of topic note, do any of the NBA followers think that Stan Van Gundy looks just a little too much like Ron Jeremy? I don't watch basketball, but I have SportsCenter on.

Anyone want to post over there as Concerned Continental Passenger?;)

:D

In other news, I am currently at LGA hoping against  that would prevent me from getting to Vegas tonight. My best friend flew in town and is going to have to spend his first four hours entertaining himself on the Strip.

Overall, LAS-IAH-LGA-IAH-HNL-IAH-LGA-IAH-LAS has been a very humbling EUA experience with only the first and last segments clearing. 2/6 ain't bad I guess.

Bite the bullet and fly her up. The ticket price lost could be gained in a job, as opposed to her not being considered further because of possibly miffing the director.

Agreed, though you can always go with the mixed reply that she's out of town for a few weeks but if necessary can shuffle things around to be back sooner. And, since you're opening things up that way you can also bring up looking for a salary range and benefits info at the same time.

I believe DL flies ICN-ATL 3 days a week. KE is the only ST carrier that flies between ICN and JFK.

Correct, the DL flight only runs a few days a week but they recently upgraded it to the 77L.

I'm currently in IAH attempting to get to LGA. Apparently all the flights are delayed so, at the moment, we're running an hour behind. Joy.

Thanks for the advise. She sent an email telling the director that she will be up here on the 22nd but could fly up earlier if it was necessary. The director suggested the 23rd would be perfect so wish her luck and Ill keep you posted. I will also make sure the salary and benefits get brought up in round 2.

We have great thin crust down the street from me....get off the GSP at 63, go to Route 72 East, about 2 miles to Route 9 South. It's on your right after about a mile; Callaway's. Might be more like 8 minutes instead of 5, but his thin crust pizza is worth the drive.

Down here it's :). Not quite :D, but by no means . There is no reason to be  over the weather here. It's a little  compared to the last few days, but I say ^ to that. Your weather, brought to you by emoticons and no effort whatsoever. (Don't think that the media won't resort to emoticons. I give it 10 years.)

It's good to hear that the director is accomodating as best of luck to her.

As you mention, there is salary difference between public and private schools. Some private schools pay poorly but they get away with it because in many states the teachers in the private sector don't need certification and that's how they get away paying them less.

The weather report up here is much easier. It's  now, compared to yesterday and forecasted to be  tomorrow.
