I'm about to book an itinerary on AAnother AAirline that has one flight completely zeroed out on July 5th  One literally cannot purchase that flight alone but it comes up as a valid connection.

I thought about doing it but I live in a townhouse so replacing the door is a whole lot of  I would have to go through with the condo association. I don't think I'm up for rebuilding the whole system onto the existing door plus with my MR this weekend and a semi-regular travel schedule after that, I just don't have the time.

Plus, since I have a home office, part of the expense is tax-deductable....this is after all the door to the building where my office is! ^

I love the Violent Femmes and saw them many moons ago. About the same time I thought the 688 club was a sane environment.

Must agree completely. Better said than done. I have an ex boyfriend who was an optomotrist in coastal SC. He loved it except he hated having sand in his car. Plus1 has said he shares this ideal way of living. I guess that means I will be living on the beach somewhere in my retirement while Plus1 is reading sandfree somewhere.

I called up and the agent said "we can't move that person to an exit row seat because they are not Elite." I explained the situation and they told me no way, no how.

I'll say this as gently as I can. Sitting apart from each other can be a really nice thing!

Sadly, I'm avoiding the main CO forum more and more, it's starting to become toxic out there.

I sat beside the hot pocket inventor ORD-DEN. Not only was he delightful, modest and downright amazing, he was one of if not the best seat mates I've ever had (he also sent me a bunch of hot pockets free coupons)

Last week I had a guy, who boarded at the very end, demand that I ask someone else to take their bags off the plane and check them, so that he could use the now empty space for his, because he refused to check his bag. That wasn't going to happen. I also had someone write in to CO accusing me of racial discrimination because I had to check his bag in since we were out of space.

Some of these people need to get a life. Demand someone else check their bag to they can have space.:rolleyes:

I know, Let's keep our fingers crossed. I am doing PHL-IAH-SAN-EWR(redeye)-PHL and everything looks wide open except that phl-iah segment. I really hope I get an agent who is willing to play with my routing and let me change it slightly because I am traveling with a friend on that segment and would like to get rerouted together so I can go to LAS with him and maybe get him in F as my companion if it's available.

I can't really talk to the french, and they seemingly have no desire to even try to communicate with me (except lots of people want me to take their picture at various tourist sights).

Went to some church today, it had mutes outfront with some petition - i dunno what about, they were mute and i can only read a little french - but it occured to me that i've been quite mute myself so far. I'm so busy trying to be polite and not be a loud obnoxious American that i've mostly been very quiet, nearly mute.

In the group I work/tour/travel with I think we're all that the point of being sick of each other too.. so communication within it has broken down to grunts, gestures, and one word answers.

I feel like the dog at the pet store that just a little too old to be a cute puppy and that everyone just passes by. I'd love to learn about the culture and the people, really be in and part of it - but everything ends up being me looking through the glass as an outsider.

I've been there - not in France but in China. It's tough. I used my off time reading books, exercising, hopping in the pool, watching House (I limited myself to 1 a day so I could spread it out). Hop on the train - you are in a very transient area - go for it. Go seek out a movie theatre (English with French subtitles). Post in the Community forum of FT!

Yeah your other flights are wide open. Your PHL-IAH flight is on the line as to whether or not it will oversell, it is however currently overbooked. :D

Most agents are willing to rebook you close to where you want to go if you volunteer. I often ask people, when we offer the next day's flight, if they would like to extend their return by one day, at no extra charge of course.

Baglady, with regards to the pilot/bracelet/Larry's annual salary thread, I wasn't so wise because I posted a few things before I figured out that hitting my head against the wall would be easier.

Steph3n Jun 4, 2009 8:03 pm

I may try to make it out to SFO now that I have two free marriott nights(that is free without award points....may add a 3rd night from points too) :D on one of those restricted weekend fares from IAH.
