It's a conspiracy I tell you. I've seen Four (4) Canada commercials in the past 10 minutes.

ConciergeMike May 5, 2009 3:41 pm

belynch, why not do elsewhere in Asia with your 300K? HKG comes to mind.

I see that commercial for Israel every morning during ABC News, at the same time. Still haven't gone, much as they want me to.

Ever seen the Canadian domestic violence PSA's that were banned from TV up there?

You'd have your choice of Tim Hortons!^

They probably realized how unrealistic that was. :p

Though, I am still tempted. Any idea when they are going to swap the 744?

Someone started a rumor that the JFK route will be swapped to A380 this summer, of course that is very false since the next A380 goes to CDG and the do not have more coming in time to make such a change.

So, what seems fishy? Why would they sell the building, only to lease it at a FAR HIGHER price? and why would subsidiary company be the buyer?

All kinds of plausible (and many legitimate) explanations.

I would imagine it relates to taxes and incentives offered to build vs operate.

Capital expenditures requires access to capital (parent company). Plus, it could be a "neutral" transaction - add in taxes and such over a 25 year period and the building is expensive.

She has a nice voice but I don't find her that particularly attractive - I've even posted that in the DL side of FT. And she's short.

Better than those 38 consecutive toll roads in Japan. Hell with that.

If I were going to earn that many US DM's, I would be thinking "multi-partner promotion".

*As cr@p as they are, I never had a problem redeeming miles.

UPGR podcast did a whole thing on them , they don't starnet block
so redemption is great, but  radiation level is also very high .

Any suggestions on dumping 300k CO miles for 2 folks?

Wait for 60K more , then hit up EK to the Maldives , Mauritius or Seychelles
I think those are 180K , fozz just had this award he knows the exact requirement.

Interesting. A few strategically placed OP shopping partners plus a few more visits to the ABQ burro should take care of that in short order.

When I did my US divorce and was analyzing which alliance/airline to go to, a differentiating factor with SkyTeam (the kids who got picked last) was the ability to redeem to SEZ. If I do AF instead of EK, what's the redemption rate? (I can't make heads or tails of CO's stupid charts)

CM, HKG is all fine and pandy but I like to vacation in places that I probably won't get to for work. Plus, it needs to be accessible, or en route to, a beach.

Uh huh. If your goal is to collect miles to burn on crazy vacations, it's really hard to beat DM. If your goal is to collect miles as an ancillary benefit to routine travel, without jeopardizing your sanity, stay well clear of US.

.

Im pretty sure it still Series 10 so It may be the same amount of mileage. They don't have the separate EK chart like they used to.
The one thing to watch out for with AF is the possibility of their special config planes going to SEZ, The  Afaire config. I think they use it for Indian Ocean and Caribe.
