I really needed to go to the gym tonight. But I am ridiculously exhausted. Yesterday's travel and not going to bed until nearly 1:00 AM, then waking up at 6:00 AM this morning just about killed me. I can barely move now.

Yes, there were blankets and pillows between EWR and FRA on Friday and Sunday.

Does anyone in The Box happen to know anyone at OpenTable? I could be uber-ballsy and request an introduction to the CEO thru someone on LinkedIn, but even that seems a hair over the top for my taste.

MikeMpls, how long will you be in HAM? If you're interested I've written a first draft of a travel/tour guide for a day's worth of visits that I'd be willing to share if you want to give it a try and see how well it works. Let me know.
I'll certainly take a look at your draft. I have a guide book (Wallpaper City Guide: Hamburg) but on a 1-day visit like this prefer to keep moving & not get bogged down in museums, etc. Got one for 23 hours in Amsterdam later in May? I'll make an exception to the "no museums" rule for the Anne Frank house but otherwise same game plan. I'll PM real email addresses. Thanks! |

Traveling for work is one of those things that (usually) sounds a lot better than it is. For example, ABQ isn't a bad city to visit. Once.
I wouldn't mind traveling more for work. |

Oh, that is good to know - I heard there were NOT blankets and pillows in Y on the way to/from OGG on UA this past weekend, and I was slightly distressed as I am going to FRA next weekend and was NOT in the mood to tote all that stuff myself...

So much for opening a checking account with Chase.
My wife and I went down to a local Chase branch this afternoon, complete with printout to get my CO miles and the $100 needed to open the account. I casually mentioned that we were moving to AUS and needed a bank that had locations everywhere. He frowned and related that if we opened the account here in SAN, any changes that were needed (address, new ATM card, etc) had to be done here, and that Chase branches in Texas (or anywhere else for that matter) would be unable to do anything. So I either have to wait until we get to AUS to open an account or do something different. I tend to like credit unions much more than banks and if I have to wait, I don't know that I want to give Chase my money given that a branch in a different state will be unable to help me with anything. So much , so little time. But I will say that he was extremely nice, helpful, and pleasant. So that's never a bad thing. |

One day -- arrive Sunday a.m., walk till we drop, then pick ourselves up & check in to our hotel (PL'd Crowne Plaza), return home Monday morning. I try not to do quick-turn MR's anymore.

How much service do you need from the branch? My credit union has some reciprocal arrangements with others so that when I go to up  NY I can get money out of the ATM fine. I'm sure I could do a check deposit if needed.

I was in AUS a few months ago and had to deal with an issue with my WaMu account and they referred me to a particular branch. In the grander scale, it's short term as they should have combined ops by the end of the year. |
