He has no excuse at this point. My buddy in DFW has an excuse, as prices from there are $600, and he's employed w/an entry-level exec position in retail (not exactly the most stable industry at the moment).

My school’s women team had a bad year. They use to be good. How times change. I have full expectation of my school getting crushed in the first round. It's not like watching Princeton play as they always have the ability to get through the first round by playing traditional basketball which confuses the other team.

I was thinking about this the other day... I am a former AA flyer and they were great during irrops (common in DFW in the summer) but the benefits weren't that great unless you were an EXP. I hardly used my 500-miler certs.

I'm debating making OW my second program. My original plan was to start flying UA more and putting up with the connections in ORD, but with AA, I could rack up a lot of segments doing things like IAH-DFW-LBB.

I'm drawn like a moth to a flame to BA's 80K biz award on LA U.S.--->SCL(w/stopover)--->IPC

I already have about 40K parked in BA, and would be willing to fly Q-UPs on AA to make up most of the remaining 120K needed for 2x biz awards to IPC. I can supplement some of that with points transfers from SPG. Also, Q-UP MRs are painless, even when you lack status, because you don't get dinged with extra fees, and you can still take advantage of priority check-in and boarding.

After I've reached my redemption goal, I'll reassess my choice of a secondary FFP.

Smithwicks (pronounced smit'-icks) if you want beer. And you can't really get far from Dublin with only three days and needing to be back in time for the flight out. There isn't a ton to do in the city (tour the castle - it is pretty cool for an hour or two) but I don't think that you'll be able to get out of town for much. Oh, and your credit card almost certainly doesn't provide rental car insurance there, so be careful.

You're right. You just don't get it. ;) I have no idea where you are coming up with the 35 goals thing but that's ridiculous. Teams will score between 60-90 points the vast majority of the time in college ball. Occasionally there are outliers to that range, but they are rare. When a team only scores 60 it is because the opponent plays good defense, not because they just decided to not show up one day. In pro ball it can very much be because they just didn't show up, but that rarely happens in college ball and never happens in March.

I'm on the outside looking in this year, though after two NCAA titles back-to-back a couple years ago (and a football championship this year) I don't have too much to complain about.

To be fair, I was thinking the pros when I said 100 points. 100 points, sometimes scored in occurrences of 1, 2, or 3 - and very unscientifically averaged down since all shots are not always the same value...I was going for the ball going thru the hoop about 35 times for each side, hence equaling a made shot to a goal in hockey. Oh screw it. Yeah, basketball's not my thing. I'll leave it at that.

Him and Rolo both. Come to think of it, rolov has been wearing a black UF polo just about every time I've seen him. He wore one to the golf mini-Do, he wore one when he stopped in at Borgata on the way to PHL, and I think he was wearing one for the party flight. And my powers of minutiae observation could be flawed on this, but I think there's more than one piece of UF paraphenalia on his golf bag as well.
