I taught my fiancee's 6-year-old niece "ERRONEOUS!", much to her mother's dismay.
This is the same little girl that I was trying to convince to walk up to her grandfather at his 60th birthday party this weekend and say "60 is the new 50." Strangely enough, no dice on that. |

Anne Frank House will probably have the longest line / wait. These activities are fairly close - I don't know where Escher is but walked from the Rijksmuseum to Anne Frank House to Dam Square (where I think the Hard Rock was).

All this talk about National got me thinking about how I generally have been disappointed with them recently. It seems that over the last eight or nine months, the quality of cars they provide is decreasing, while the rates have stayed the same or increased. The last few times I have booked premiums, I have ended up with Toyota Avalons with more than 25k miles on them. The best premium I have received (when actually booking a premium) has been a new Maxima with 2k miles on it. The Malibus and other similar cars I have pulled off the Executive Selection have been newer. What happened to all those new Volvo S60's and Buick Lucernes they had last year? They seem to have disappeared. I was using Alamo for awhile on the weekends to take advantage of their $10/day (and, later, $18/day for premium) special rates, and many of the cars I got from Alamo were actually better than those from National, like newer Avalons and brand new Ford Tauruses, and cost half as much per day.
At certain locations, when you arrive in the evening, there is nothing but crap in the ES aisle, like old Impalas, busted-out Camrys and even Carollas, and Mazda CX-7 (or 5, or whatever than "mini-mini-van" thing is). SEA still seems to be a good National station, however. Last week, I pulled a brand new Lincoln Towncar with 2100 miles on it from the Executive Selection. The other cars available included plenty of new Malibus and Impalas, a few new minivans, Buick Lacrosses, and several 4 Runners. I also pulled a new GMC Acadia from there a couple of months ago. SEA was mediocre a couple of years ago, but seems to have gone up in quality since then. |
jrzyshawn: you need to pray harder for that bump out of SAN tomorrow.

That's pretty nuts. A few questions:
Does the dog use priority boarding? Can the dog upgrade? Do the AAdvantage people issue the dog a card, and if so, is it on his collar? Will other airlines status match the dog? Personally, I think all of the above should be tackled by sbm12 in a blog post. AA corporate communications should have no problem answering, right? This should also somehow find its way into an upcoming Upgrd episode. Delta would say "Dogs are NOT allowed on any Delta Aircraft" CO would say "On behalf of 40,000 employees We have the most professional men, women and pets in the industry" US would say we "You can bring your dog on board but we will charge passengers who want to pet the dog" That leaves Alaska , who actually uses dogs to tow planes to the gates in the winter. |

Thanks. That helps. MC Escher's place is in Den Haag, and will probably be a Saturday trip. The more I think about it, it'd be dumb to land, go to the hotel, and then not go right into downtown.

We have a male client in ICU that we would like to send a get well gift. ICU only allows "edible arrangements", so wondering Box, what would be a nice gift that is not all fruit like those from the company Edible Arrangements?

Only problem now is that it's redundant. :p |

Edited to add - Frontier makes them ride on the tail. |
By the way, CM, I don't know if any Boxers have addressed this recently (it came up in passing in the ALCO bachelor party reports) or whether you have scrapped the idea, but do not waste your time and money with getting the NW temporary lounge membership to access the showers at the KL Crown Lounge. When we all arrived at AMS for the party, the waitlist for the showers was more than an hour long. I believe colpuck landed and hour before us and put his name on the list, and was not even called for a shower until after we landed and had been in the lounge for 15 minutes.

CM, do you like Indonesian food? If so, I can recommend a few places in AMS and Den Haag.
