Sure...but could you form a coherent sentence?

I can't even do that in english, what now makes you think I could do it in french? :)

I could understand sentences but speaking was more sketchy.

Last two rental cars I had - Mazda CX-7 and a Mercury Mountaineer both had 32,XXX miles on the odometer.:td: They were a bit rough looking.

I've had some new ones, however my last wasn't much of an upgrade, avis is calling Mitsubushi Galant's Full size now....it was new however. still had that nice toxic smell :D
I am getting Mitsubishi or Toyota frequently now with Avis.

Avis is calling the Mitsubishi Eclipse a STANDARD size now. One rung smaller than a full size. Standard size used to be the Chevy Monte Carlo 2 door.

Avis is currently on my sh*tlist because no matter whether you fill the tank or not, there is always an extra $10.50 on your bill which requires you to make an issue of it with the agent, stop at the office, or call them when you get where you are going in order to get it removed. Sometimes none of those methods are effective and the $10.50 lives thru to your credit card bill. :td:

My last 5 rentals with National have been Nissan Altimas (now considered a full size ) - all with less than 10k miles. I can't complain too much about that.

In other news, piecing together a good 8+ segment mileage run on UA is a lot harder than I expected. :(

icurhere2 May 4, 2009 9:53 pm

My last rental had 3 miles on the odometer (2010 Toyota Corolla S) from Hertz - a 5* perk, apparently. The rental before that was a Chrysler Town and Country minivan with over 40,000 miles (thanks to Dollar / Thrifty).

The Altima has long been considered full size, and it's definitely not a small car. I don't mind it at all.

I definitely don't mind it either. However, I don't think it should be considered a full size car - especially when National also (occasionally) has Maximas.

Agreed! The timing of us walking around that corner was perfect!

And, for those voicing a concern in COFlyerCLE's turning down a drinking opportunity - I did witness him enjoying a beer between FRA and EWR. :)

He is redemmed then!

This weekend, Hartmann and I sealed our fate as lifetime aerogeeks - we took a tour of Frankfurt Airport. :D

It was actually pretty cool - they take you out on to the tarmac (in a bus) and show you all around T1, T2 and the cargo areas.

I'll post pictures (complete with glare from the bus windows ) in a few.

Put on my list of things to do at an airport!

I love this model. I bought my CO PC based on this and now the line isnt "Mom, I need to head back home" it is "Mom, they are calling my flight I have to leave....;)"

So am I - now that I've found FT, I can usually arrange a stopover during a MR every time I have to (or want to) visit them.

This works, I have a friend that when i call ask, "when are you at the airport?"

I just had to tell my first flat-out travel-related lie...asked if I was free the evening of 5/16 for a party, and just couldn't say "hey, thanks so much for the invitation, but I'm flying to Germany and back that weekend so I don't think I can make it!"

And I'm SURE I wasn't as convincing/genuine as I ought to have been, so it must have sounded suspicious. :( I mean, it's one thing not to volunteer information about what I'm doing on a given weekend to my family/co-workers/etc, but this was different...ugh.

Did any of you have to deal with such ethical dilemmas when you first crossed over into the realm of travel insanity?

JUst tell the truth, most people are just jealious of what one can do in a weekend!

Just wait until you have to explain it to the Immigration guy at EWR ;)

Tons of fun...

That has to be easier than in Calgary!

I can't as it is right before the Star Alliance DO. Two trips to FRA in a week would be a bit much.

The people around me have to come to expect such irrational behavior. Like ALCO I always get asked where I've been and when people call me, the first question is "Where are you?".

Give it time, you'll get used to it.

I am hoping the STar DO has more info soon. My adopted brother in BNA always ask me where I am. I think he expects me to be anywhere but home! :)

I had a good evening tonight. 4 hours at the wine bar although i only had 2 glasses of wine. may have to go back later in the week for round two!

Of course, this information is always withheld from FT's BNA contingent.

They classify the Maxima as a premium car.

Same here. I've basically dumped Avis even though they are my company's rental car of choice. I've gone on to Thrifty but even they are only marginally better. Rental car customer service all sucks now. All I ask for is regular running shuttles and quick in and out and no one can even get these simple things right.

I've never ever had an issue with this, I have FSO and ezfuel disabled in my profile, and they only charge it if you drive less than 75 miles anyway, so key is DRIVE more than 75 miles :D
