Thanks.

^ :D - of course. You should be the employee profiled in the piece that Larry always references at the front of the magazine, IMO.

As long as you're not trapped in an electrical room riding a bike to keep the lights on, it's cool.

I think the mosquito thread is going to beat the 1k-bumped thread. :D

Yes, definitely.
Yes, it is a published benefit. UA is really bad about enforcing it. When my bf died, the lovely staff at SFO cleared a family, with no status, into the exit row and wouldn't give me a seat and this was on a confirmed ticket. I eventually got on the flight, but i'm still ticked about the situation as it should have never happened.

In essence they broke their own rules and that is the problem I have. If it was published that you have standby priority most of the time, it would be ok, but as it stands we are told as 1Ks we will have the highest priority.

I'm sorry for your loss. I can certainly understand your anger.

I am guessing that UA overbooked those misconnects onto the flight because it was the more correct thing to do.

Knowing where you are on the list is why CO wanted no one to know because of all the misunderstandings. But you asked for clarity and now the PDA site is here. I actually love it and it has decreased the amount of "am I going to be upgraded" questions to almost nothing.

I added my $.02 over there, and I think I did so in a restrained and thoughtful manner.

If I weren't posting from the ancient Blackberry, I would probably be keeping up with the developments.

My trip to DEN in 2001 with the emergency landing in MCI? My customers were laid-off while I was flying in from D.C. Company still paid the bill after finding others to attend my class.

interesting, I was wondering how much of an impact that has had with some of the silly questions.

Larry profiles an employee every week. I haven't done anything recently to be noticed. The last time I was doing something out of the ordinary was when my family and I was headed for PBI. We were attempting to get on the first IAH flight at 6am. We arrived at the boarding area to see the morning supervisor checking in. There were 4 sick calls that morning, all gate agents, and I volunteered to work the flight. That was a sure way of getting good seats on the flight. Unfortunately that flight oversold. Then I ended up working two more oversold flights before we got onto the 10am flight to EWR.

The supervisor wanted the give me some postive passes but the GM said that he would rather pay me for the hours I actually worked.

Did ya'll read that baggage handler at Orly refused to unload a plane from Mexico?

That's a new brand of crazy of which I was not previously aware.

You're coming in on the 14th? I'll probably just miss you - I'm leaving that morning on that early NW flight, 10:30-ish IIRC.

I get in on the 16th around 8 am.

Your post reminded me to do something, but I don't know if I can get it done without having my big bad flat-panel monitor.
