 :(

I just had to tell my first flat-out travel-related lie...asked if I was free the evening of 5/16 for a party, and just couldn't say "hey, thanks so much for the invitation, but I'm flying to Germany and back that weekend so I don't think I can make it!"

And I'm SURE I wasn't as convincing/genuine as I ought to have been, so it must have sounded suspicious. :( I mean, it's one thing not to volunteer information about what I'm doing on a given weekend to my family/co-workers/etc, but this was different...ugh.

Did any of you have to deal with such ethical dilemmas when you first crossed over into the realm of travel insanity?

733s open for sale at 110% of value for immediate delivery, or best offer.

Many of my friends have come to expect silly EU trips out of me since I have been doing it for so long!

Are you still embarrassed to share your travel geekery with the rest of the world? I got over that a long time ago and just tell people that I'm going to Germany for the day or whatever. Sure, they think I'm strange, but they're right so I'm not so worried about it. :p

The folks at the office are mildly curious which continent I'll be visiting on any given weekend.

what office, the front office, payroll office, or the mail room? :D

I think you mean 'courier' (not Currier & Ives!) -- & these days, that could make you suspect!!

ConciergeMike May 4, 2009 3:20 pm

If he is a "currier" he could also be one who produces curry. :D

Just wait until you have to explain it to the Immigration guy at EWR ;)

Tons of fun...
