We left early as well...right after the semi-finals for quiz bowl were over...what happened afterwards??? Doesn't sound very good...

I wasn't involved, but may or may not have heard stories involving overhead bins. I'm also a little shocked they let people on board with drinks, since I saw a few people holding drinks while in the flight deck area--I was wondering who was going to spill one somewhere up there.

Yep, that was just plain rude. I made sure I didn't bring drinks or food up the air stairs as I assumed they didn't want to clean the plane further after we were done with it.

Yikes, that's extremely poor form after all the access that CO granted us.

Greetings from the Schrute Family Beet Farm. I feel like every time I'm here I don't intend to be here. Oh well.

The Hilton Scranton was actually $10 cheaper for the night, I guess I'm a slave to the 's.

Looks like ya'll had a blast at the DO (perhaps a bit too much fun?). Sorry I missed it, but it ended up being for the best. On top of everything else I got a head cold this weekend. Nothing terrible, but had I been flying my brain might have exploded out of my ears from the pressure. Worst. Feeling. Ever.

Anyway, I'm fixin to go  it up in AVP.

I'm finally home. Great time everyone. Those who left early missed a big comeback in the final round. (complaint of music too load and not being able to talk seemed to be biggest reason) A big :td: to the plane damage. From several reports, CO employees were on the plane when the seat was damaged and were encouraging people to climb in the luggage bins so culpability is all around. I thought they should have had someone in there the whole time.

Happy to hear about the good time. I also hope that if any of those coupons survived the trip down, they were burned on the homeward leg. Sorry that I could not be there.

It was a wonderful time; sorry to those of you who weren't there!!! I am making a point in 2009 to pay attention to how much things cost ;) I am going to be in NYC next Sun night (15th) if anyone is available for a mini box do there. It was great to see everyone there and Mr. BL and I had a blast!

Everyone on the party flight thanks you for them. The CC's are all gone. When ever I get to these photos sorted, one is of sbm12's mini mountain. Impressive. ^

There was a very short period of time they stopped the engine photos around 7:40 but by 8 PM they appeared to decide to allow the practice (the weight is nothing compared to what it sees on a normal flight) and a good chunk of the people attending took photos in it.

Franny and I will meet baglady for dinner that evening, location TBD but since she is staying near Times Square, the West Bank Cafe is worthy of consideration. At this writing, another probable attendee is Olton Hall.

I presume that some of the other NYC Box denizens may be interested and might have a venue they would think is preferable.

I have reservations at both the Marriott Marquis and the Westin Times Square. I still haven't decided where we're staying; but we'll be in the Times Sq. area. I'm open for going anywhere though. Have DO, will travel!

Let me think about it for a while and let some of the other NY Boxers declare. I figure that a Sunday evening dinner somewhere on the West Side will shake some of them out of the bushes. :)

As of now I'm around Sunday night.

I'm still wondering what the details are of what happened in the plane that finally got things shut down. I do not think that the "normal" photos in the engine nor the people in the bins were the reason. There are many rumors floating around about other things, but I don't know that we'll ever get a real answer that can be shared publicly. It truly is too bad and a horrible way for things to end the night.

Agreed. The plane did fly out today so I suppose it wasn't the end of the world but it was still and awful and disrespectful way for things to go down.

I sure hope the MX crew did a good check of that plane after so many of us were on it... would hate to see something slipped out of a purse/pocket accidentally, destroy an engine as beautiful as those were.
