If we exclude the Box, how many posts is that? Perhaps 128? Okay, 210 at most! :p

Cablevision of NJ sucks.
As soon as I buy this house* I'm going to FiOS. I don't care how much more it is, it'll be worth it to no longer feed the Cablevision beast. Their techs are actually really nice and knowledgeable (as long as you don't get a contract guy) but their customer service is horrific. After waiting on hold for the obligatory 45 minutes you get connected to someone named Chinchilla (true story) who proceeds to tell you that you're wrong and that you're actually trying to reprogram your microwave and that TiVo is a brand of footwear.:mad::rolleyes: Welcome to the Box carsonheim. Please check your dignity at the door. Looks like I'm good to go for Sunday evening. Lookin' forward to finally meeting a larger representation of the Box. I'll be the guy wearing the urban sombrero. *signed contracts and put the deposit on it last night. |

Now, I had no idea Comcast offered a static IP service. Is it $15 per IP?
They just started offering FI:rolleyes:S here, but the price for the same category of Internet service from Verizon is a lot more money. Comcast is evil, but their Internet service is actually pretty reliable and that's what I need. |

As does Cablevision of NY. I had a Cablevision induced pixelation that they tried to tell me was due to my TiVo. After 16 techs they finally agreed they had no clue how to fix their problem and just gave me a price concession on my service.

Congrats on the house deposit. |

Nonsense. I have at least 300 posts that aren't Box, Post Whore Thread, or Pre-Apostheid OMNI.

Can't wait until I move in May. I get AT&T DSL at home because that's all that is available where I'm at now (aside from Hughes Satellite Interweb). Can't even get AT&T U-Verse, and Comcast can't service us either. The AT&T DSL is running over phone lines so old that it's essentially no better than 56K dial-up when it even works (which is less often than not, these days).
Priority 1 for wherever I end up in May is availability of high-speed tubez service from a variety of providers. |

SPG Experts, what is the best deal running on the SPG AMEX. I'm about to spend 7-10k on furniture and other stuff in the next month or two and figured now would be a good time to make the switch.

I've got their business service. It's $15 for one IP and $20 for five.

Comcast is evil, but their Internet service is actually pretty reliable and that's what I need. I was all over him like a lost puppy asking all kinds of question. I ran all the wiring though the walls before the tech came, because I didn't want my friend to have rg6 and cat5 tacked to the baseboards and the floors of the house. The tech though a pro ran the wires which made my day :p. I had everything labled and sorted. Used two cat5 for every room, one for voice and the other for data and ran one rg6 to each room for tv. The tech made all the connections and was impressed that the job was so neat with all my work and though I must have worked for VZ at one time. |
We were early adopters of COX high speed internet and have yet to have any issue beyond burning out a couple of modems. Their customer service is actually pretty darn good when I need it, so I consider myself lucky.
On the cable side, I was very close to moving back to DirecTv but Cox has done a great job of adding HiDef channels. No SPEED yet, which sucks for today's races, but a ton of other cool channels. |

IIRC, there's some sort of 25K bonus offer (or there was) for spending ~$15K on the card in the first six months. 10K sign-up bonus, then 15K bonus for spending 15K, plus the 15K you would earn for spending the 15K in the first place (so 40K total). I got someone in the office here to sign up for it several months ago before he remodeled his home. A search in the SPG forum would likely pull up the link.
