They aren't very common at all. I really wish I could find a TV with a card slot. I don't think they make them anymore. The only things that seem to take them these days are Tivo type boxes.

which is silly as cablecards were meant to not require a STB!

From my understanding, most people with HDTV's still use the old analog cable boxes much less a digital or HD box. I had to fix a few freinds set ups and was shocked to see just a coax cable going to the back of the TV from the box and the tv tuned to channel 3 or 4.
A pet peeve of mine is at electronics stores and at homes, having HD TVs running with a SD signal, 90% of the TVs can't handle it will and stretch them so much they are pixelated and unwatchable, IMO. Very few HDTVs downsize (or upconvert) the SD signal to a watchable format on screen. |

I just don't see the big negatives in LBB. Yeah it doesn't have high-end food or amazing hotels, and yes it smells funny sometimes, but it's beautiful out there and the hunting is amazing.
And yes, the hunting is spectacular. Nothing like going after the blue quails when they're in season. |

Why do I bother reading posts in the box, it's all drivel. I should just post randomly, it's bound to be on topic.

Technology pet peeve of mine. When a Best Buy salesman tries to tell me I need to buy the $100 Monster HDMI cable for the best picture. Bzzzt! A digital picture is a digital picture. I bought my HDMI cable from a place online that is pennies on the dollar. I get the same picture as Monster's cable. The profit that Monster makes must be monstrous:rolleyes:!

I stick the cable right into the TV with no box. We get a few HD channels. I do NOT want a box. I wanted a cablecard
