Perhaps it is the Oprah Factor?

Hmmm. Since I know this effects others. I took a look at the seat map for my return flight from the DO on CO1676 and in the reservation page is says the flight's leaving IAH at 4 PM instead of 5 PM. Manage reservation still shows it as a 5 PM departure.

Edit: Time table shows it as 5PM. Must be a glitch.

My seatmap still says 5:00.

And on the topic of Man Uggs, well, uh, - something from Danner will suit me just fine. I've been told my old combat boots look like Forrest Gump's magic shoes, but when my entire body stays warm because my feet are warm, those people can laugh all they please.

I just got back from shoe shopping and am waiting to get a haircut. Exciting day. :D

The guy at the shoe place thinks that they can repair my old ones for only $20 and at the same time was trying to sell me on a new pair of the exact same shoes for $125, so I can have nice ones for normal and just use the repaired ones when the weather is bad or something like that.

I have nothing planned today except going to the high school football awards dinner for my son. Not sure if he's going to get anything but we're required to bring a dish and $10 to contribute to the coaches's gifts.

Weather wise it's still looking like more rain today. It rained all day yesterday. Not complaining because we need it. It's one of those days that makes you want to stay in bed and read.

So how many coaches vs. how many parents? Those could be pretty good gifts if there are enough parents. It's cold and yucky. It's a double movie day today; Hotel for Dogs with BL JR and then either Rev. Road or Rachel Gets Married w/ Mr BL tonight; depends on how depressed we want to get ;)

I'd say there is about 40-50 kids total, to about 10 coaches. This is also on top of the $50 player's fee, per sport, that you have to pay at the start of the season.

I'm not so sure I believe in these gifts, unless it's just to the coaches that are non paid. I suppose we're (the parents) are the cheap version of booster club donors!

Have fun at the movies. I go just to eat the popcorn.

Well, looks like pretty decent gifts for the coaches.

Movie #1 is at Alamo Drafthouse where the popcorn is great and I may get dinner there as well (and at least a pint). #2 is showing at cinemark where the popcorn is fair at best.

Is this a school league? I went to a Catholic HS, and I understand that they were giving a minimal stipend to the teachers who were coaches, but it didn't cover the cost of extra childcare time they had. I think the head coach was hired for the running teams, but he did have classes, I think athletics asst director, and at one point, a dean.

It's a public high school. I am not too sure how I feel about payment/gifts given to paid coaches and I am not too sure just how many of the coaches are paid vs fathers who volunteer. I like the idea of gifting the volunteer coaches because they do put in alot of time with the daily practices and games.

There is also a $50 player fee per sport. I am assuming that this money goes towards their salaries and equipment costs. This fee is different at each school in the district, which I find strange.

I use to go to a movie theatre that had second run showings when I went to school that served beer. It was great.
