I see it's just like NJ for daytime EMS. The paramedics show up first and 10 minutes later the BLS arrives.
We strive to be on scene within 9 minutes 90% of the time. I'd say we beat ALS 60% of the time. But, it really depends on where the call is. NY EMS (around here) is wayyyy better than NJ according to my friends that work both. If  hits the fan we have a commercial service that does transports back up the 911 side. So, in theory, you're never waiting more than 10 minutes for an ambulance. In theory... |

There is a retailer in EWR terminal C near the PC in the sky that had them on display so you can take them for a test drive. The one thing that sort of ticked me off was that the codec's for the player are sold seperate. If you want the wifi to work, you have to download it for $30 bucks, same thing with the mpeg codec. To get your programs off TiVo and onto the player, you need TiVo To Go plus or prem. It costs about $30 and it converts the tivo recordings into mobile H.264 somthing so it will play on the mobile device.

Does RyanAir normally have 0 GBP fares?
I was checking out how much it would cost to get from London to Rome for a day trip and this is what the flights come to.

walking the strip last night to see all the lights was fun as well (well, minus the obnoxious drunks). Beyond that, this place is a dump. When the sun came up and I walked the strip again, I realized how disgusting of a place it really is.
It is exactly what it is - a haven of excess and ridiculous behavior. At least they don't pretend to be anything else. |

It's official - Vegas is a pit of sin. I should have known I'd hate this place. My curiosity got the best of me this weekend as I decided to make the trip out here. Let me just say, I am glad I only came for one night....I'm sure I'll return for some sort of a conference/trade show some day, but I'd never come back here for "fun" again.
I am debating whether to take my laptop or just the BB, but taking the laptop always wins. :o |

It is the Premiere at Muvico20 on Airport Road. It is the thing that when you see it for the first time traveling on I-95 between Glades and Yamato, you wonder what it is.
Catching up on the Box when you've been away from it for 24 hours is a lot of work, even on the weekend. I had a  woman there who accused me of stealing an air hockey table from her 6-year-old grandson, and she had the chutzpah to claim that he was in line for the table, when there was in fact no one occupying the table. The grandmother wouldn't admit that I was faster on the draw and beat the kid to the table quite fairly.

Let me just say, I am glad I only came for one night. Going to see the Hoover Dam this morning was cool and walking the strip last night to see all the lights was fun as well (well, minus the obnoxious drunks). Beyond that, this place is a dump. Anyway, I'm finally at LAS (which is a ghost town!), waiting in the PClub (me and 1 other guy - for CO's sake, I hope it's not always like this) for the redeye back to EWR.

In other news, did anyone see that Michelle Obama's rep ripped the Beanie Baby people a new one over their creation of Sasha and Malia dolls? If you're opposed to the dolls because it's your kids, that's fine. But the quote from her rep was somewhat irksome no matter what part of the spectrum you call home: "We believe it is inappropriate to use young, private citizens for marketing purposes." - so if that's true, no kids should be used to market, well, anything...and by her line of reasoning, that includes kids' products. I guess you could switch out the kid on the oatmeal box with the old man in the nursing home. |

Did Sasha and Malia and/or their parents give consent? Or was their likeness exploited for the purposes of commercialization? The kid on the oatmeal box got paid and agreed to it. Therein lies the difference. Bad quote from the rep? Sure. Taken out of context? Probably. The whole thing stupid? Absolutely. In other news, why am I not at Lace? Oh. Right. :rolleyes:ing. |
HAHAHA.

Obama cannot bring his his children front and center and if he really wants to kill their appearing on the front page over and over, he can do it by withdrawing them completely from the public eye. Otherwise, he is taking a page from the Clinton playbook. No matter what you thought of W, he managed to keep his children out of the political spotlight despite the fact that their misadventures kept calling attention to them. |

Although a cynic would argue that their being kept out of the spotlight was directly related to their misadventures. ;) |

Here we go again. Reminds me of the Clintons trotting out their daughter for all kinds of publicity and promotional purposes and then showing high dudgeon whenever anybody said anything other than flattering about her or tried to find out what she really was doing there.

 I'd hardly call it 'trotting them out there' at this point....Let's give them more than 4 days in the White House to let the novelty wear off and see if the 'trotting' out happens.

I completely understand wanting to use the kids during the campaign and then them being off limits. That isn't a double standard as it is the way it has always been. I agree with belynch's assessment: Did Sasha and Malia and/or their parents give consent? Or was their likeness exploited for the purposes of commercialization? Church must not have let out yet. Quiet this morning.
Or everyone else is watching the Rolex 24 hour... |
The guy across the aisle from me on my flight this morning was talking to his seat mate about Flyertalk and mileage runs. The seat mate was not a FT'er but was an avid mileage runner. I was too tired from my redeye to strike up a conversation or determine whether it was anyone from the CO forum, however.
