Portions of the post that previously appeared in this space have been deleted. I would provide you with a reason why, but doing so would likely be against the TOS.

Any suggestions from the Box on good, reasonably-priced places (say, under $20 per person, no alcohol) for a birthday dinner in Houston?

I rarely eat out in Houston, and the few places that I have eaten at have either closed or would not be "acceptable" for a birthday dinner (i.e., although I personally have no problem going to Chick-Fil-A, I suspect those that have travelled for the birthday celebration would look down on such a choice).

Any suggestions would be appreciated. All cuisines are, ahem, on the table, except for Chinese.

Is there an area of town you are looking for specifically?

I started to type it out, but my reply included a Palin reference. I deleted it in favor of not getting the Box exiled to Omni PR.

But, yes, 15 will get you 20.

Goode Company Taqueria/BBQ would be within the price range, though I'm not sure if it would fit the acceptability criteria. It certainly is delicious.

Morning Box.

3 fer 3 on companion upgrades over the weekend, including the elusive IAH-LAX. Sometimes there is a benefit to dealing with "The 100 people in front of me have no effin clue how to go through security! How hard is it to empty your pockets before you got through the metal detector?!"

Thursday it is, then. I'm sure some of the usual suspects could also be roused for some drinks.

I'll be there. I don't care what work project comes my way, I'll finish it after drinks ;) - probably will bring MR BL with me.

I went 1 for 2 and gave the SBH the F seat on the one we didn't get. Yes, I self-exiled myself to whY (14A on a 735). I finally remembered to assign her the better seat so if I get the EUA one of us isn't stuck in 31" of .

You could do Luling City Market for ~$20/person.

Dolce Vita has quickly become a love of mine and it is reasonably priced. I think you could do $20 there as well.
