I just have to say that the new Wi-Fi/3G tethering feature in Android 2.2 rocks! I'm riding on an Amtrak train between BWI and Washington Union Station, sending this from Firefox on my laptop, with the laptop tethered to my Nexus One via Wi-Fi. Best part of all, it doesn't cost me anything extra at all on T-Mobile.

Now that my shameless phone/service provider plug is done, it did allow me to get some valuable work done quickly on this 30 minute ride home, so I don't have to worry about it when I hit my apartment half an hour from now.

I am getting 5.5mb on 4g with sprint, but signal is fading where I am here too much(indoors) 3g is rocking along at about 1.6mb at least.

I was thinking about getting Clear 4G where I live. But, I hear the lag can be  with it. I'm still waiting for more reviews of it here in Houston. According to their map, I am in a very strong service area. Clear and Sprint are partners, right?

I didn't run a speed test but it was loading pages pretty quickly and had no issues with my work VPN. I was able to connect to our Exchange Server and send about a dozen e-mails I wrote on the flight, several with large PDF attachments, very quickly. I think I'll get a lot of use out of this new feature, especially in airports that have only paid Wi-Fi.

yes, clear and sprint are 'partners'.

I have little lag, my DSL at home has higher pings most of the time in fact.

at home my 3g is 124-155(a bit of jump) to my servers in FL, and my DSL is 133-40(less jumpy), so very comparable.

Of course sometimes I take a really nice route on DSL and it goes to 80ms, but verizon is getting worse and worse in that regard. This week I have seen 400ms+ on my DSL with no network traffic in my home.

I don't. I have no problem taking every second of vacation they offer me. But then, I'm in full agreement with my employer's philosophy that tome off is essential to keeping up job performance, and it's a benefit that should not be wasted.

It is failing me at moment and I am not sure why, I think it was overheating in the window non AC side of the office...I just moved it into my office and seems to be more stable so far. It was hooooot before.
