Oh, by the way, the crowds in Chicago for the Blackhawks rally ended up being much larger than the city's original estimate. The city's official crowd estimate was 2 million. That's more like it. ~25% of the greater Chicago area. :-:

Like I said, I was at the epicenter of the ralley. In fact, the team came into the Hyatt where I was attending a meeting and we got to see the Stanley Cup and Hull and lots of other players and ex-players. The roar outside the hotel was unbelieveable and the mess afterwords was ...well messy. The street people made off like bandits with all the aluminum cans left in the street. And it was hot and muggy to boot.

Currently in the RCC in B at ORD on my way to another meeting in DCA.

Sorry to hear that you did not get an upgrade. When I checked into the Courtyard Chicago Downtown last night, I asked after being given a standard room whether Gold Elites rated anything from the hotel. Their answer... Nope!:confused:. They did condescend to give me a 3PM checkout. Woopie!

I'm starting to appreciate the elite thing. I made gold with Priority Club and I had to beg the check-in clerk the other day to give me any room instead of waiting for my 'upgraded' room on the quiet side of the hotel. I just wanted to dump my stuff and run into San francisco for a few hours. And since I had to get up at 3AM, highway noise helped.
