Awesome first goal for World Cup action. Beautiful placement into the top corner.

I'm DVR'ing the games hoping to remain spoiler free until the evening. I think that this may be a fools errand. :(

Not that your post was a spoiler mind you, but I can't watch the games in the office.

CO might as well just get an ICC. Their phone agents are some of the most poorly trained of any airline I've dealt with.

I find the majority of the phone reps I deal with to be fairly good. There have been many times, however, when I felt that CO should reimburse me for the training about rewards and other matters that I provided to their phone reps.

Over the last few months, however, I have grown irritated with the fact that we now often have to wait on hold for a minute or two on the elite line for someone to answer due to the decrease in staffing.

Just think of all the curling commentary. Then remind yourself that futbol is supposedly more riveting to watch than curling.

ETA: Futbol on DVR in fast forward sounds intriguing. That's the only way that futbol approaches being watchable.

Just got the issue fixed, it appears (am still on hold for final confirmation). The issue seems to be that regular phone reps are prohibited from splitting the PNR by their system. They have to call through to their own support desk to obtain an agent who can split the PNR without being told "nein" by teh computer.

Electronic Support Desk is also apparently useless for such transactions.

I think my favorite CO phone rep story was the time that I got into an argument over SDCing to another flight. The argument was not about the flight itself, but rather the definition of what exactly constituted a 12-hour window. I'm pretty sure that consultation of a clock would have remedied the problem.

I take 10-15 days off a year) and was coming back jet lagged and not performing well. Luckily she said she stood up for me and said that she has never noticed any thing - which is true as I rarely stay any where long enough to get jet lag nor do I take red eye flights and come directly into work. He is the one we should be concerned about. He takes at least 5 months of vacation a year...

I guess I'm really going to have to keep my personal flying on the dl and when asked (by him) I'll make up a smart ... remark.

10-15 vacation days a year is not excessive and any manager who thinks it is has a problem.

I actually like the Saabs, but for the uncomfortable seating configurations used by some carriers.

I took many flights on Saabs from CAK to DTW in the mid 2000's. The seating varied from flight to flight since each plane had different seating. Sometimes it was good, sometimes it sucked. I was going to be on one earlier this year but the flight was cancelled and I was sent packing on DL (in an evil spawn of Kenjet) instead.

OLCI for EWR-CUN offering buy-up to F for $79, or ELR for $39. And so far no one is biting...

True. Most of my interactions are fine (but most are for simple solutions). The Epic Fails tend to come when you need something slightly beyond the ordinary agent-customer interaction.

If I could guarantee that for my honeymoon flugs, I'd do that instead of burning 30K miles in a heartbeat.

When it's all said and done, I'll be taking about 35 days this year - vac+sick days are pooled, so if you don't get sick much, it's like bonus time off.

I normally get 30/year, but I was able to carry 5 over from last year. I intend to use them all.

I will keep my posts cryptic and unhelpful per usual.
