Higher ETOPS generally means more (expensive) gear operationally. If you're not going to be able to take advantage of the 330 then why go through the extra operational costs?

From CONUS the only routes that need it are NZ and Oz and those only barely need it. Everything else - Africa, S. America, Europe, Asia, Middle East - can all be covered with 180. It wouldn't surprise me that Boeing wants it that way but I don't see value to CO.

Boeing might not be giving the individual airlines a choice on the ETOPS rating. That would mess with their production line in a way that they would probably rather avoid.

Morning Box.

So glad the PDA site exists. If it didn't I wouldn't have known that my battlefield upgrade on SAT-IAH happened this morning since the gate agents didn't bother to come on board and tell me. Fortunately I saw it online and was able to move from 21F to 2B.

I would report that to CO Insider.

I would demand excessive compensation, but I'm a UA flyer. :D

Is U.S.--->Asia--->Europe a valid reward routing?

ssullivan Jun 11, 2010 9:01 am

It's so nice to mostly fly 738s now for work after years of almost nothing but ERJs and 735s.

Seconded. Scott doesn't know if frontline employees aren't getting it done unless someone lets him know.

On a slightly more serious note...need a little advice from those who know more about IAH than I.

Have two+ hours to burn tomorrow AM at IAH connecting to CO 3060. Currently teh webs say I will arrive in C and then depart from B. So...WWTB do: would you hit a PClub in C near my arrival and then just leave early to get over to B or would you use the B terminal club?

Having only the horror of the F RCC at ORD to think of when considering RJ terminal clubs, I think I'd be best off just hitting the mainline terminal club and leaving early. But, does anyone have a positive report regarding the B PClub?

Go to C-South, then hit up Shipley's in B

I was thinking the other day about how long it's been since I've been on any type of regional jet, and realized that I have not been on one since last October. Have my first (E)RJ trip since then coming up in a few weeks. At one point a few years ago, almost 25% of my segments were on ERJs.

You know I will. There's more to the story. Just not feeling up to typing it all out on my phone while waiting to board the plane to BWI.
