I just got home from work and will be decompressing somewhat, so I will likely be here to keep you company for a while.

That's why I stopped listening to the news during my commute. I am trying to keep my blood pressure low. Swearing at Kerry Wood is much more cathartic.

One of the things I'm really glad I did when I was younger was to take a tour of the Normandy beaches and cemeteries. The cemetery I visited -- with row after row of identical white crosses -- was one of the most beautiful and haunting places I have ever been.

On a slightly more serious note...need a little advice from those who know more about IAH than I.

Have two+ hours to burn tomorrow AM at IAH connecting to CO 3060. Currently teh webs say I will arrive in C and then depart from B. So...WWTB do: would you hit a PClub in C near my arrival and then just leave early to get over to B or would you use the B terminal club?

Having only the horror of the F RCC at ORD to think of when considering RJ terminal clubs, I think I'd be best off just hitting the mainline terminal club and leaving early. But, does anyone have a positive report regarding the B PClub?

Sixty six years ago my uncle and a few hundred thousand of his friends got ashore in Normandy, by today were at being shot at well inland, and they didn't stop until they met up with those thugs coming from the other direction.

They really were, as Brokow said, the Greatest Generation.

My mother did a Normandy tour on her last TATL cruise from FLL to AMS. Said it was one of the most powerful things she'd ever seen. And yes, oddly enough given the military and the historical appreciation presence in Teh Box, that the day went by unremarked upon was slightly odd.

Anything interesting going on in the First State?

Other than my conversation with Peter Greenberg, there was nothing of interest tonight. Downtown Wilmington, as you likely know, shuts down at about 1830-ish. The crazy woman who talks to herself stopped by again tonight; she's usually around once a week or so. In a rare occurrence, no homeless people asked to use the lobby bathroom.

The two most frequented PClubs by the large majority of Teh Box are C-North and E. I can't recall reading too much good bad or indifferent about the B club.

I do. It's upstairs, if I recall right, quite central to the madhouse spokes, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Check the hours, though.

Thanks ^

Next question, does anyone have a good guess at the transit time from the C-North PClub to the B terminal?

Having hung out in ONT once for three hours recently, I'm fairly certain that you might have been the most entertaining thing in that airport at that time.

I guess I am. The detectors were also cranked high. All I had on me metal wise was my belt that has never set off any detectors, that is, until today.

I guess the Smurfs need to amuse themselves.

Night, Box. Day 3 of 7 in ~13 hours.

Not really.

Happy Soccer Month! I'll try and wake up for the first game later this morning. Looking forward to the World Cup.^

I'm going to call it a night, three minutes early. I have to drive to Victoria TX tomorrow morning, and have to get up a bit earlier than usual to pull off the whole pre-departure caper. I've never been to Victoria, so it should be an interesting drive, at least by Texas standards.

ETA: no longer three minutes early. G'night, Box.

The thought of partial ensconcing makes me wince in pain. It's kind of an all or nothing situation.

I'm really leaving this time.

Same here. I've not really tried to give them much business this year. I've mostly stayed at Hilton properties in locations where they were the best option by far. I've hotel hopped some during those weeks as they always seemed to hit during promotional periods where multiple stays resulted in a free night certificate. And, without trying, I'm just over 75% of the way to renewing Diamond and the year isn't half over yet.

Considering I've already wrapped up :rolleyes:Priority Club Platinum:rolleyes: for another year (they practically give it away), and I'm 3 stays away from renewing SPG Platinum after tonight (will have that done in just a few weeks), I'll probably start throwing some nights at Marriott again. This week's client pretty much enforced staying at a Fairfield Inn, which turned out to be one of the best Fairfields I've ever stayed in, and I'm in a position where I've got a few trips coming up that would allow me to easily keep at least Marriott Gold for 2011.
