My summer trip to Scotland might be falling apart. Wife called mid-day to find out just how much we stand to lose if she cannot go due to work. Of course, after postponing for a few weeks on buying about $300 in non-refundable tickets for intra-Scotland flights I finally went ahead and pulled the trigger yesterday. :(
I'm in for probably $500 in real spend and another $500 in BA voucher money that I might have to walk away from. :mad: |

Wrapped up work at the client at 3:15, then realized I could make a 4:35 PM flight out of BPT, and get home tonight. So, I quickly went online and rebooked, and canceled tonight's hotel reservation. After rushing to the airport, including sitting in traffic caused by construction, I ran into the terminal at 4:00, knowing I'd still make the flight. In fact, the plane wasn't even at the airport yet. Then at the counter I was informed that the flight is running almost 90 minutes behind schedule. Rushed for nothing.
But I should hopefully still make my connection at IAH, and if I don't, there's still a later COEX flight I could hop on that's got tons of open seats and only one passenger on the standby list. |

Probably not worth it. This is a vacation based mostly on stuff she wants to see more than I do. Don't get me wrong - I'm very much looking forward to it as well - but the main focus was stuff for her. My going without her would be silly.

Three vending machines in here, all fully stocked, and all three refusing to accept either cash or coins for whatever reason. So even though I'd love something to drink, it's not possible thanks to broken machines.
Oh, and despite the estimated 5:10 PM departure of our inbound aircraft, CO.com is not showing it as departed yet, and FlightAware doesn't show it in the air. Maybe I shouldn't have tried to get home tonight after all. |

New estimated arrival time at IAH is 7 minutes before my ATL departure. Guess it's the later COEX flight and a midnight arrival for me tonight. :(

Looks like I'll be getting the United charge card with the 50K miles. You boxers with your tricks are such a help! Only thing that has me a bit nervous is that I have extra security from the credit bureaus when someone kept having bills sent to my house and one of them even changed my b'day to hers! The SS#'s never matched nor did the names but boy did I get threatening calls (for 2 different credit cards). I don't have the current name of my current employeer on my record since it has changed 6 or 7 times in recent years (although my phone extension is still the same!)
