! Flight successfully changed to IAD-FRA.

I just blew four of the five attendees in this session away by teaching them how to use tabbed browsing in IE. Apparently only one person in here even knew tabbed browsing existed. After watching one person struggle with trying to find the correct browser window because she had about 25 things open in her Windows taskbar, I figured it was time for a quick lesson in modern Internet browsers, circa 2005.

They were all shocked and awed by this new revelation. I could have done nothing else this week right, but just for this one item I'll get great reviews on my client evaluation this week.

! I have a quite a bit of domestic updating to do; my lifetime mileage total should be 700k-750k, not 350k or whatnot.

ToYesterday in History: In 1997, Duke Nukem Forever development was announced.

It remains unreleased.

! My 5/5 run is in my FM, and I will fill in the details when I get home. I like plugging in future flights so I don't forget.

! I hate my Roth IRA provider. My mother opened a Roth for me several years ago and I never funded it. The branch office sucks, and the guy that my mother used has since made several crap picks. I'm on hold trying to switch the account to something that I can self-direct, as I can't ever get my rep on the phone. The first  at the broker dealer that is servicing the account that picked up the phone did not know the tax implications of wanting to close a Roth. (There's such little money in there that I didn't care about the penalty, until they told me that their account closure fee would have eaten most of the account.)

! 1997 was the height of the poopstorm called political correctness. Games that portrayed cops as literal pigs and had much violence and boobies faced the same uphill battle then that they do now.

! My mother finds tabbed browsing confusing. This is the same woman who refers to the Web by the name of her ISP. "Michael, the Comcast thing is broken." (Translation: "Comcast thing" = home modem/router setup.)

I can't live without tabbed browsing. It drives me insane if I'm having to work on a client's computer and they don't have a browser that supports it installed. But apparently it's still a revolutionary concept to computer users who don't explore their software and learn about everything it can do, and just stick to the bare-bones basics that someone taught them 15 years ago.

I'm always amazed at IT people who complain about Microsoft and security, and then do stupid things like keep their computers running Windows XP and IE 6, ignoring the enormous number of security improvements that exist in later versions of that software.

! I wonder if someone at Smith Street, despite their having much more on the hot plate this week, is lurking in Teh Box and realizing enjoyment and perhaps a chuckle or several from Post Like CO IT Day.
