I did run into this situation at PHL once.

I agree. I'd be shocked if anything improved for consumers. It seems to me mergers in this business combine the worst features of each company from a consumer point of view.

! One need only take a gander at the new DL/NW to see where the consumer will end up after CO and UA unite.

! Higher fares: check.

! Massive mileage devaluation/redemption rate inflation: check.

! Drastically reduced saver award availability: check.

! I have only experienced PHL as an O&D airport, and it's not bad for that (decent shops and restaurants; the new D-E connector helps). The worst airport I have connected in is the old "bus terminal" at CVG.

Many CO PHL employees can be  but some are ^.

! That is true of all airline employees at PHL, with the exception of anyone who works in terminal F'ed, who are uniformly awful (outside of the people at the US club, who are great.)

+1. It's actually lower than ATL in my book and I really hate ATL.

! Agree on both counts. At least ATL runs somewhat smoothly (relative to PHL).

I am a little frustrated with the Le Meridien SFO. I called the corporate number yesterday to get a folio, they transferred me to the hotel who sent me the folio by e-mail. Great.

While I had the employee on the phone I mentioned that the $8 charge needed to be removed so she said she would transfer me to accounting, who was out of the office.

This is the second time I've had issues with billing and dealing with accounting. The first time I never received a call back from the hotel until I escalated the issue and now I don't expect call back until I do the same.

and did not even bother to look at the guys card.

! Happened to me at PHL when I listed Copa Connection for teh companion upgrade.

! GA just (indifferently, he is the putz that I speak of) took my word for it that I was *G, and did his best to look pissed off that I was asking him to do something outside the ordinary.

! Compare this to the GA at PHL who was kind enough to list us for upgrades for an onward flight when we were on space-available certs.

! UA's would be something of a more logical choice, no?

! More hubs and more outstations means more potential connections for people, ergo more allowable segments.

! All that being said, my experience is typically different from the majority of the population here.

! I fly for leisure exclusively, and I prefer early morning flights. I have no
! place to be, and I generally leave at gawdawful times of the morning, so
! there are few times when I become frustrated by cascading problems.

+1. Having lived in PHL as an O&D pax, I never really had problems there. Took off in the early morning, and arrived late in the evening. Always avoided the rush.

MIA is my least favorite. I haven't been there since the new terminal was built. Is it any better?

! Hotel accounting is damn near always "out of the office".

! am seeing a lot of 4+ segment trips for only $10 more than cheapest.

! trip to FLL was offered to go IAH and CLE, for $20 more, but timing all bad I am in rush of late.
