Just got my LAX planespotting photos from yesterday online. Four 747s: SQ, KL (twice - they had a go-around), China Southern and Southern Air Cargo. I didn't wait around for the LH flug.

Sure, but I wouldn't call that business casual. ;)
I always pity the folks who show up for plant visits in button-downs, or even more formal, especially in the bakeries. They get to wear lab coats. Very comfortable in the middle of July when you're standing in a room with 12 ovens that are the length of football fields. |

...UA279. I think this is an A319 or A320. I am not positive.
The seat is somewhat reclined when in the upright position and the headrest is uner my shoulders so it feels very uncomfortable. |
Back in the USA. Interviews in Asia went fairly well. CO's res system is having some severe difficulties in communicating with that of a certain Star Alliance partner - led to CO claiming I had an award ticket and reservation while the partner saw nothing at all. Partner had to manually "build" me a new reservation in Y class on the spot (which took alot of teeth pulling as a flight via Europe was involved) and attach the CO ticket number to the new PNR. That led to some interesting effects on my OnePass account...;)

Good morning, Box. My weekend involved another drive to HVN and a night in a La Quinta. I lucked out on traffic both ways, but still, 3 consecutive weekends of the same stretch of 95/GSP is quite enough for a while.

We are staying one night longer on our own and I made a res for us at the Westin Bund Center in Shanghai so I can cash in on their amazon $100 gift card promo.

This week I'm at the Princeton Marriott (meetings there all week). Looks like I'm going to get an overdose of NJ.

I'm 10 minutes from the Marriott. PM me if you're up for drinks or dinner one of the nights. Can go to actual Princeton.

I was even a super good fiancee; took the ETC from the other cancelled ticket and gave it to my fiancee for use against the honeymoon. She said I could keep it for myself; I declined. It's better to know that almost half of our air is paid already. CUN is a lousy use of a redemption, so we'd rather pay, earn, and take the 30K hit each on mileage upgrades.

For the first time since July 1992, I no longer own a car. We took it to CarMax this afternoon, and 30 minutes later walked out with a check and hopped into a rental we picked up this morning and headed home.
Our apartment was also approved today. We'll be living right on Massachusetts Avenue NW, between Mount Vernon Square and Dupont Circle. Everything fell into place with the apartment and it was one of the most hassle-free rental transactions I've ever had. The manager at the property has been wonderful to work with, and that has gone a long way toward cutting down on the potential stress of this relocation. Now it's time for bed. It's been a busy weekend and I'm exhausted. |

My company is having its largest event here this week and everyone is floating around looking busy while dressing a bit nicer.
Just another week for me. Sometimes it's nice to be the low man on the totem pole. |

UA F on the A319 gets a big fat :td: from me. Honestly it felt more like premium economy than domestic F. When the passenger in 1D fully reclined, his seat actually rested on my flimsy tray table. 1D's head is way to close to my personal space. Once we start recriprical upgrades with UA the MP elites are going to be in for a real treat with CO F. One thing that I liked was the FA had linen table cloths for the tray tables in F for a 1.5 hour flight. That was a nice touch. |
