Right. And they were filled prior to ELR anyway, so there's no net loss. You wouldn't expect them to go out empty and leave folks at the flughafen, would you? UAL constantly puts people up in E+ that didn't pay for it (read: me, and various others with nice sweater wardrobes).
The advantage to them selling ELR as opposed to opening them up for Generalisimo's at check-in is there's a better chance a seat is fixin' to remain open for a displaced (or last minute purchase) elite. A position I often find myself in. Even though they fill back to front (is that what she said?) you can hop on your mobile device, see that the ELR seat is unoccupado, and ask them to move you. Even in EWR they generally accommodate this request with minimal 'ing. |

I'm not sold on this for UA/CO. I might be exhibiting idealist tendencies, which would be a sharp 180 from my normal sarcastic, bitter self, but I do think that some good will come to the mileage side of the equation.

I want to start a new thread called:
What will happen when we run out of speculative threads? Boker tov, Box. |
Want to save $$
Sounds like spam, doesn't it? Anyone here use http://www.restaurant.com? A friend passed along a tip that if you use the code MEAL at checkout, a $25 gift cert comes out to only $2! Some of these places require a minimum of certain $ to be used, but I was  when I saw how much $ the GC saved. I hope this helps out.

! Also makes a great gift for random people (read: coworkers) you don't really want to give a gift to for holidays / birthdays, etc. |

I chalk up any problems I have at Philly to be the typical Philly "F-off" attitude that is endemic to the city. I've had to deal with gate agents in Philly a grand total of three times: two were great and one was an indifferent putz.

! LAX (can you consider it a hub for anyone?) is the fail in my book too. ! ETA: ! Completely forgot about IAD. Now that's an absolute fail. I know they're pumping loads of money into it, but the thought of connecting there makes me visibly angry. |

! - Presence of US ! - Delay prone ! - It's Philly ! - Poor concourse design for aircraft movement ! All that being said, my experience is typically different from the majority of the population here. ! I fly for leisure exclusively, and I prefer early morning flights. I have no ! place to be, and I generally leave at gawdawful times of the morning, so ! there are few times when I become frustrated by cascading problems. I think I inadvertently combined Post Like CO IT Day and Post like :rolleyes:v day. I'll throw in an ARRGH! for good measure. |
