Just got a hostile response when I asked to match to the Business plat 2K spend or 2 club passes offers. Oh well, I'll do 3K.

Also, what's the deal with the Business card not having an EMV chip? They couldn't have added it when they did the redesign?

I just want to give an update of my own personal experience here with the new links.

As you may remember, I reported that I applied for and was instantly approved for the Plat in December, and then applied for and was instantly approved for the Gold this month, through one of the new links.

I just got the approval letter for the Gold, and the 25k miles for $750 spend is mentioned in the letter.

So, I am now comfortable saying that I know for sure that with the new links, the different cards (Gold / Plat) are treated as different products and you can get the bonuses simultaneously.

So for those who are not comfortable aggressively churning the Exec (meeting the minimum and closing quickly while you can still get the AF refunded) you can still get 75k miles by opening both Gold and Plat. I also assume that it's possible to repeat this every 18 months.

cancelling Citi Business

Ask them to cancel both the card acccount ending in ABCD and the master account ending EFGH when you ask them to cancel the card by secure message.

Btw, I just updated the Wikipost above with (a terser version of) this info (and some emphasized warnings that many people have to cancel both accounts before they can apply for another business card) last night. It seemed to be missing that before.
Thanks for very useful and detailed post in the old thread. SMed Citi...hopefully it works!

Just wanted to give a data point here:

Called in to cancel business platinum card, got some retention offers:

1: 10K miles after $5k spend in 6 mos.
2: $95 waiver after $3k in 3 mos.
3: $50 waiver after $50 spend in 1 mo.

None were really doing it for me, so cancelled. YMMV.

I just applied for the Citi AA Business using the $2k link and was denied when calling. I had the AA Business and closed it on 10/16/2014, when I applied using that link I got the pending/call us to provide more information link. When I called after holding for review they denied me outright because I had previously had the card. I confirmed that the existing account was closed but still denied.
Edit to add, I'll have to see if the letter says "existing" or "previous" on it to tell whether it is the still open master account issue or not.

I assume you know that AA Bus cards are way more YMMV than personal cards? Some people do everything totally right, and still cant get a second one. Hopefully in your case, it's just that the master account isn't closed, and once you do that you will get approved again. Good Luck.

I got the targeted citi aadvantage gold offer for 50,000 miles when you spend 1.5k in 3 months and 10,000 miles after spending 5k in 12 months.
Can anyone who got the total 60,000 miles tell me if I have to spend 1.5k+5K(total $6,500) or I only need to spend $5,000 in total in order to get that additional 10,000 miles.

Thanks.

In the past it has meant a total of $5000. This is how the 100K cards were structured in 2011.

I just activated my Citi AA Gold card and linked it to the same login as my AA Plat card. When I view the account it shows 2 card, but only one card under "Rewards" (the Plat Card). There is nothing listed under "Rewards" for the Gold card. Is this a problem?

Data point for the business card (using 50k miles after $2k spend link):

Card history:
- 1 previous AA business card (opened early 2014, closed card & master account ~8 months ago)
- Multiple Exec cards last year (all but one still open)
- 2 Platinum Visas opened in 2013 (one still open, one closed ~4 months ago)
- Another couple (much older) non-AA Citi cards (still open)

I applied, and had to call recon. I was told my account needed "further processing by a senior account specialist". They transferred me, put me on hold for 10 minutes, asked for my cell phone number, and approved me. Nothing to it.

I had lowered my CL on my other cards a few months ago, in preparation for this application.

So (after applying, of course) I noticed a major difference in the terms between the old (no churning restrictions) business card link and the new one ($2k spend required). I haven't seen any mention of this specific difference anywhere in this thread.

Old link:
This offer is available only if the Business does not already have a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World MasterCard® and, within the previous 90 days, has not applied for or received a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® World MasterCard®.
New link:
This CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® Card offer is not available to you if you already have a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® card account. Additionally, this offer is valid only for first time CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® Card cardmembers who apply pursuant to this offer for an account.
(Emphasis mine)

I read the new terms to say only one business bonus per person, lifetime. Now I can't say that they're necessarily enforcing that, seeing as I used that link and was approved for my second business card (see the post above this one), but the terms are there.

If the card you closed was not a Platinum MC, my experience suggests that you are fine to apply immediately (assuming you comply with the one-week and 60 (65) day rules).

Interestingly, they give your credit score at the bottom of the page as well as which bureau they pulled and the reasons for your score. At the top of the page they also list your credit limit and "Credit Remaining" which was slightly lower than the credit limit on the card. Not sure exactly what that is.
Very helpful datapoints here. Thanks.

I also find it really interesting that they give you your credit score, bureaus, and credit remaining. I didn't see that information on the business app, although that may have just been because I wasn't instantly approved.

I would assume that credit remaining is how much additional credit they're willing to extend to you total. I keep track of that (I figure out the total CL across all cards at which they're not willing to offer any more, then add/subtract as cards are opened/closed/CLs are reduced), but it sounds like now they may actually be providing that information for you. That's a churner's dream. I wish I was closer to being eligible to apply for a personal card, so I could see how closely my numbers match theirs.

Was your previous (2014) Bus card a Visa or a MC?

Have you verified that you will indeed receive a sign up bonus on the new app, since the T/C make it sound like you don't qualify?

So, at risk of another repetetive post would like experts' opinion on my self-diagnosis:

2/27/14 - Opened Citi Executive / AAdvantage World Elite MasterCard (still open)
2/27/14 - Closed Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select (Master) Card

Have two other Plat Select cards, but they've been open for 10+ years (they're my long-term anchors)

As I read the wiki, the fly in the ointment would be the <12mo closure of the Plat Select preventing approval of the landing page offer.

I would prefer to use the landing-page offers due to the 2k vs 3k spend, but am willing to use the 3k personal unrestricted link if that's the most likely approval.

FYI I also plan to apply for the US 50k & 2k Biz MC (never had a Citi Biz card). Is it advisable that I stack the Pers/US apps within one day, then wait the requisite 8 days to follow up with the Biz MC?

Given that both numbers were a bit below the CLs we got (CLs $16.5K and $10K), I sort of assumed that it was like a cash advance limit on this particular card. Not sure though, it was odd.
