In April 2020 Chase criteria for approving BUSINESS card applications have become more stringent. All Chase INK products are business cards. Chase also issues co-branded business cards for United Airlines and Southwest Airlines.

Chase business cards are subject to the 5/24 restriction. Approval of a Chase business application has not increased the N/24 count, but there are a few reports in the 4th quarter of 2022 that this may have changed, review THIS thread. There will always be some uncertainty, because 5/24 is an unpublished rule which Chase can modify without notice or explanation.

For general information about applying for Chase cards, including explanation of the unpublished 5/24 rule, please review the Wikipost of the PERSONAL card thread: HERE

Anyone can apply for a business card as a sole proprietor. If your business has a registered company name, which Chase can verify, you may use the name to apply. Otherwise, use your legal First and Last name as the business name. Do not add any extra words, do not use a made up name. If Chase cannot verify the name the application will fail.

Useful Chase telephone numbers
(888) 269-8690 - Business Credit Card Application Status Line, automated
(800) 453-9719 – Business Credit Card Reconsideration Line with live rep
(800) 453-9719 – Credit Reallocation Office (Business cards)
(888) 622-7547 – Executive Offices

Twitter: @ChaseSupport

Note: In the past, automated telephone status reports stating that Chase would notify you in 2 weeks often resulted in an approval, whereas the "7-10 days" telephone recording often indicated imminent denial. In 2016, this pattern became increasingly unpredictable, with many applicants receiving approval despite an earlier "7-10 days" automated telephone message. As a result, automated telephone responses should not be regarded as reliable indicators of an application's likely outcome.

?? Chase business credit cards [must / may] use [the same / a different] user name [as / from] personal cards. The same [applies / does not apply] to the e-mail address used. ??

Perhaps they need to verify your information with IHG's system. This could happen in real time, but if the link is down....

Good point although their system knows if the link is down when the application is submitted, they could instant “Approved” (in 60-90 seconds) as default (for instant approvals) and “In review or Pending” when the link is down. I realize their computers “thinking about” the application takes a little longer due to the IHG link and deciding if an IHG # needs to be assigned, that’s why the additional 30-60 seconds beyond the typical 30 second instant approval for a non-linked account. (30/60/90 seconds used purely for discussion purposes, it could very well be 22 or 68 or 94 seconds.)

At least they don’t say (or write) it’s “due to COVID” .

Hyatt business card

Does anyone know if I can do a Hyatt business card referral from my personal Hyatt card without potential negative consequences?

Me too. Got the CIC recently. Received a measly $4k CL. SM'ed Chase to move $6k from CIP. That effectively gave me $10k at 0% APR for one year. Not that I need it; I pay in-full every month. But if someone wanted/needed to keep a high balance for several months (while only making minimum payments) they could via a CL increase. (Obviously, this assumes they have CL to move and that Chase OKs it.)

RNE, noting that icing on the cake is that the high balance won't be reported to credit bureaus.

As far as I know, Chase only does referrals biz to biz, and personal to personal...not mixed.

I don't have a Hyatt card so I can't answer specifically, but my United cards can refer to all other United cards (biz and personal).

Are you asking about doing a self-referral, or referring someone else?

Go to https://www.chase.com/referafriend/catch-all and see what happens. Self-referrals have been done before with other Chase cards.

Perhaps this has changed very recently, or is now case-by-case for different offers, but in past years there have been numerous reports of FTers churning Ink cards more frequently than every 24 months.

Case in point: my DW earned an Ink Cash SUB last month after having last done so in January 2021. To be honest, I don’t recall looking at the Certifications section when I—uh, she, yes, of course, my DW, she—submitted the most recent app, so I can’t say whether the 24-month language was present but unenforced or merely absent.

My understanding (from reading, not based on personal experience) is that it is not enforced on INK branded cards. I do not know if this is true for co-branded business cards.

I haven’t seen reports of co-branded cards (business or personal) being exempt since the early, early days of 5/24, so my impression is that Ink cards are very much the outlier in this respect.

Hmm, if Business cards do not count against your 5/24, you could really rack up just applying for business cards only once every three months. Am I forgetting something that would mess me up doing all the business cards that Chase offers?

To be clear, INK cards are not exempt from the unpublished 5/24 policy. This discussion is about the separate 24 months since last bonus stipulation in the offer terms.
