one member wrote: AA is now showing gift cards as "giftcard" rather than general purchase if the csr looks closely. Last year it worked for me, yesterday it did not and csr told me that's why. However, later the same day I also requested the credit by Secure Message (for "baggage fees) and it was approved. Very YMMV now but still doable. 2/10/2017

Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.

DP: I wasn't charge AF after lowering CL to 1500. Statement closed yesterday. Marriott points haven't posted yet.

Also a single charge of less than $1 triggered 10k points with my AU.

Just got approved for this surprisingly with a 10k limit. Do they next day air it to you automatically or do I need to ask?
And it seems like the 300 dollar travel credit is only good for like upgrades, baggage fees, and such? Which makes this card not that worth it but going to keep it after lowering my cl to 1500. Is that difficult to do? Or can I just SM them asking to without much reason?

The $450 AF isn't worth the 3 free nights you receive at a T1-4 property?

The big upside of this card is the club level upgrade, which can be in the thousands if you stay at Ritz property enough. For example, I spent 6 nights at Ritz Aurba and saved over $2,400 in my cost vs. the club upgrade I was given. The $300 credit is easy to use - fly and upgrade to first class, then SM and ask for the upgrade to be a statement credit.

Hi,

If they "convert" your card from old to infinity would that trigger the ability to claim the $300 travel expense again? I wonder if they consider it a "different product" (which it should be) so one could get the sign-on bonus again.

Club level upgrades seem nice but I don't think I'd ever have a paid stay at a ritz Carlton...

Then outside of the signup bonus there is no point in owning the card. You'd be better served to get a CSR.

I've never stayed at a Ritz... but I keep it because I stay at Marriott for work, and the Gold status is nice.

My card and statements still say Signature. But, I successfully used the Visa Infinite $100 discount on 8/13 and received the new Priority Pass Select card around 8/11. Just be patient and I am sure we'll all have new cards and benefits soon enough at $395.
I'm still waiting and still annoyed. I've called a few times about when I would have the Visa Air discount access, was given one date, then a second date, then 'we don't know'. All they can say is that they are working on migrating the accounts. I did ask what would happen if I asked for a new card to be sent, she said it would still be the old card since I haven't been migrated in their system yet.

I'd like to book some travel with the Visa discount, so I'm pretty annoyed.

I recently applied for VS card even though VI was available at the moment...and I've two questions:

1. Does AU get PP? Because my AU did not get PP.
2. How do I convert VS to VI? I asked for replacement card and it came out to be VS. I then send them a SM and was told to apply for VI separately lol

edit: Oh, btw my CC # does not work on $100 off site.

can someone check and tell me how much does 2x Chicago to NY round trip cost on $100 discount site? Does the site publish the same rate as the one found on airline site or do they inflate it and then give $100 discount?

same issue for me, ive called many times and every time the agent tells me something different about when the card will be migrated. one agent even said all cards have been migrated then a few min later said a lot of cards are still waiting to be migrated

i opened a case, which was "researched" by their marketing group, all they said was all cards will be migrated but they cant product change a card until its been open 12mo.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credi...ax-others.html

(since as of this moment, only two cards offer this $100 feature - Ritz and City National Bank)

I found most flights to be same price as booking direct. A flight on B6 was more expensive than booking direct but net ~$15 cheaper after the $100 discount. There was a report in the Ritz specific thread of a flight cheaper than direct so net $100+ cheaper after discount.
Regarding the $100 airfare discount...

B6 is having a one day sale (today) for travel on Labor Day wknd (9/4 and 9/4). Flights start at $29/$39. Logged on to the Infinite portal and was able to get the sale amounts
just note that some airlines don't show up (spirit, frontier, southwest)
