However, later the same day I also requested the credit by Secure Message (for "baggage fees) and it was approved. Very YMMV now but still doable. 2/10/2017
Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.

Past reports suggest using VI travel portal gives similar pricing to OTAs and airline website. Is that still the case?

So for the club level upgrades, the room must be on a paid stay. But does it need to be paid for with the Ritz card too? I'd rather use my Barclay Arrival+ to pay for it, get the club level upgrade, then redeem the points back.

Club Level offer valid at participating Ritz-Carlton hotels on up to three qualifying paid stays per account anniversary year using The Ritz-Carlton Rewards Credit Card with a seven-night maximum length of stay, subject to availability at time of reservation. “Account anniversary year” means the year beginning with your account open date through the anniversary of your account open date, and each 12 months after that. E-Certificate is required, is non-transferable, and not combinable with other offers. Club Level Upgrade E-certificates are valid for 1 room per E-certificate and up to 2 guests per room. Valid only on member rates and non-discounted rates available weekdays and weekends on standard and premium rooms. Not valid on special corporate negotiated rates, wholesale rates, discounts or promotions (includes AAA), packages, group rates, eChannel rates, advance purchase rates and Government rates. Reservation must be paid for with valid Ritz-Carlton Rewards credit card. Account must be open and not in default to maintain your Club Level E-certificates. Chase Bank USA, N.A. is not responsible for offer fulfillment or the provision of or a failure to provide the stated benefits and services.

Two important questions about Ritz card and some interesting pictures.
Question 1:
Will my Ritz-Carlton card earn 5 points in Starwood properties?
My guess is not.
Question 2:
I did not convert my card to VISA infinite and I tried today to login to VISA
infinite booking port. It did not work. Anybody else failed to login to VISA infinite?
Thanks very much.

So basically there is no reason to use this card if I have a SPG card right ( other than at Marriott / ritz properties )

I am new to the card and didn't see this answered previously.
I want to use the $300 credit to upgrade a ticketed flight in 2017. If I pay for the upgrade now, can I receive the credit in 2016, or will it only be credited in 2017 after the flight occurs?
Also, can I use the credit to upgrade 2 people on the same locator, or only myself.
Ultimately I'm trying to get a $150 upgrade for both myself and my wife, for a 2017 flight, credited in 2016.
