Ritz-Carlton Rewards Visa Infinite (closed to new applications)

Things qualifying/not qualifying under $300 annual travel credit

However, later the same day I also requested the credit by Secure Message (for "baggage fees) and it was approved. Very YMMV now but still doable. 2/10/2017
Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.

Yup, ditto for me. I still have the old Signature card, haven't had any changes, but I can still log into the Visa Infinite flight discount site successfully.

$395 annual fee hit the account a few days ago. If I cancel the card, will I lose the Marriott Gold immediately? I did hit $10K spending last year.

Thoughts or recent experience on better odds of getting taxes and fees on international AA award flight reimbursed:
1. Buy gift cards and use to pay the taxes and fees.
