However, later the same day I also requested the credit by Secure Message (for "baggage fees) and it was approved. Very YMMV now but still doable. 2/10/2017
Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.

Thanks. I think my letter said "guests", without an indication of how many. Maybe that was when they started paying for all guests? It will be nice if it is clearly stated somewhere. The reps are mostly clueless.

Just got this card a little under 3 months ago. Met my spend requirement and got my 2 free night certs a few days before the new changes. Called the JP exec line yesterday and a very friendly and informative lady assisted me in seeing if I could qualify for the new bonus. She said she would forward the info to the marketing team and it would take a week or two to hear back. This morning I received another cert which I confirmed with Ritz, and the same JP exec rep called me back to to let me know the 3rd cert was sent, and I even will be getting the 10k bonus points too
Color me impressed with JP customer service

I'm curious how the airfare thing pans out. You have to go through a third party site so I could easily see the third party site having higher prices and the $100 discount not really ending up as much of a discount.
