they are running a schedule like budget airlines with very high utilisation and short turnaround time as compared to SQ or even QR.

pretty common to have delays of over 20-40 mins for afternoon flights especially if you are on A330s.

The 350 fleet and increasingly the 330 fleet is streched pretty thin. However, the 777 fleet (and the 321 fleet too, I believe) could take on at least some additional flights.

Not exactly a new route, but rumour 548/549 will lose F service from 2026/01/01, replaced by 77J.

If HND is losing F, I bet all regional F might be gone in the near future until the arrival of 779.

It seems SYD is losing F too, but PEK might keep it.

We haven't had CX F here in SYD for yonks. For a short time we recently had a 777 with F but this was an 'F sold as J' proposition. Actual CX F hasn't flown to SYD for many many years.

As PEK has a relatively short turnaround time, I guess PEK remains as last regional F route for aircraft utilization reate

I don't even think that reason matters if you know how many VIPs travel on this PEK route... F is just too essential for PEK.
I guess CX would not want to put itself in a situation where they need to ask their DMs to make way for VIPs when landing (lol if you know what I'm talking about)

Hopefully a year round route and not a temporary one

I suspect that Cathays next LH route announcement will be to Africa .
Possibly the RAM hub of (CMN) Casablanca.

When the do consider starting new services I wonder if they would find a triangle HKG-EDI-DUB-HKG attractive, especially if they could find a way to issue the EDI-HKG-EDI tickets with a transfer in DUB and reduce UK travel tax from long haul to short haul. Elsewhere I would look to a return of DVO, there being so much fresh produce to be shipped out of there in addition to overseas workers and seamen who will connect to long haul flights and incoming tourists.

UK passenger duty is calculated by the distance between the capitals of the countries furthest away. In the EDI-HKG case it’ll always be calculated based on the distance between London and Beijing, regardless of whichever city, DUB or DXB or BUD to travel through.

I thought that was related to a Tokyo flight?

Saw it on FB that someone said CX will rent/ acquire more second hand planes shortly and CX has already confirmed adding more A350s (said to be 18) and active discussions on acquiring 787s.

Although that sounds nice, any rumor in the internet cannot easily be trusted(especially from Facebook)
