Not sure which ones would be stomped out? I mean most of the carriers coming back are existing carriers and routes pre covid and similar/ reduced frequencies, and i dont see CX being a factor in their decision to cut the route.
now it can barely handle 3. For the first time US 3 capacity would be almost equal to CX on the LAX route. |

Long haul J seems pretty packed everytime I take it but agree business travel will never return to pre-COVID levels. I think CX needs to lean into premium leisure a bit more like UA. What I think might work quite well is limited one season only seasonals like Ayers Rock or Ulan Bator or somewhere in Central Asia Nothing Hong Kong people love more than "limited edition". :) Didn't they need to do both DFW and LAX to make the utilization work? I am contrarian on this don't think AA will come back and DL will not stick. |

long haul J full but also need to see how many are on staff travel. Reading through one of the CC FB post recently and she mention that there are 9 paxes in J are staff travels for a trip to LHR. So still to add some on award tickets? And some bump up from PE?

CX is not in the first 25 CX originally was to be the Asian launch customer. ANA and SQ execs out maneuvered Swire and bumped ahead. |

A339 and A321neo. HKG and many other airports in the region are not slot-constrained anymore and it is time to stay flexible in terms of deploying capacity on specific routes.
CX’s plan shd be all 77W to 77J at a pace of one equipment per month - and that’s just the long haul config Regional will be mostly replaced by 339, and some potential increase in frequency (in the far future) if they care to fully fill the gap. and some 773s will still be flying when they r 30 years old - hence the proposed “refreshment” plan. |
Just a friendly reminder, service to PNH will be increased to 14 weekly, CEB to 12 weekly (14 weekly from Sep) from AUG

CX is bringing back the second daily flight to TFU from Winter 2025:
CX916 HKG-TFU 1915-2210 CX917 TFU-HKG 0815-1100. |

Although I disagree with a lot of the opinions on Cathay held by NZflyer777, my information is that they are correct in asserting that none of the 25+ 777-9s already built are CX frames.
