Maybe UO can do the red eye Bali as well. 8ish pm leaving HK, and mid night return from Bali. Prefer red eye to be longer, rather than the short red eye like BKK, MNL red eye.

crew turnaround issues? Haven't seen UO doing any long routes.

This is quite close to UA’s time slot.

UO can always increase (and have always increased) aircraft util by adding another Japanese village and do overnight flights. There's enough demand amongst HKers for that.

Most Japan airports have curfew which prevents UO from starting mid-eye flights for return.

I think CX also tries to avoid flying over Russia because it will affect their codeshare partners.

For example, AA has to withdraw their codeshare with CX on JFK and BOS flights because those flights (especially westbound) will fly over Russia. US carriers cannot fly over Russia because of sanction. For JFK and BOS, CX really has not many choices but other than those two cities, CX doesn't want to give up the AA codeshare for West Coast, Chicago and DFW. I wonder if it also explains why their European flights also avoid Russia, as I am sure EU has similar saunction.
CX of course does not want to take any chances for any emergency landing at any Russian cities.

I'm curious what percentage of pax would actually be okay overflying European Russia. I would not be.

It’s rather conservative I’d say. 4 weekly only and with a 32Q. Perhaps because of the timing.

I think majority of passengers won't even know if they're overflying Russia.

another split duty, won't be well loved by the crew,

the return will work well with the midday US departures (LAX/SFO/ORD), the outbound will probably be the least popular of the 3 flights, there are a lot more flights to SGN these days but North America is still comparatively underserved, mainly due to low yielding traffic not justifying the cost of ULH ops.

I beg to differ. CX would lose significant pax if it began routing Europe flights in that direction.

the outbound serves the same purpose - take evening long haul arrivals from America, LHR, BNE, PER to SGN. And maybe even some regional connections like TPE and Japan?

Is the flight operated by 333? If not I’ll be surprised how they can still free out any long haul aircraft and not putting it on longer routes.

considering HYD is the biggest Indian market for DFW.
This makes sense.

This flight will most likely remain an A330 flight, although given that CX has only been sending 77Ws and A359s to other Indian ports (with the occasional A333 to MAA), we really can't be sure until CX confirms equipment on flights around mid-September.

I was looking for a direct flight to PNH but could not find one although I remember seeing up to 10 each week. Has it been deresumed?
