Just to be clear, CX will check through to any interline partner (which is basically any non-LCC), not just OW airlines.

Has anyone actually tried this though, to confirm?

I have not, but I did call the DM line to ask about interlining between CX and BA and the CSR actually took the trouble to check this through before confirming that CX will interline to BA. Unfortunately I forgot to ask about the reverse and the wiki here says this will be a problem.

CX interline to BA, but BA does not interline to CX.
That is on separate PNRs.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant whether anyone has confirmed that CX will check through to their non-OW interline partners.

Thanks for the information. Yes the domestic flight is within Italy. (HKG-FCO-PMO.) Does it make any difference if I am to leave the terminal during the transit? (about 12 hours between flights)

Let me report back my experience in May in case no earlier sharing.

Update: checkin agent wasn't aware AZ was interline partner at first till quickly checked, but still could not interline because the ticket cannot be accessed with the PNR after multiple attempts, probably due to the ticket being special fare.

I've done CX-AC and CX-TG with not issues at all.

This is basically what it was before this whole Oneworld minimal requirements came about last June.

Should be no problem to check through on a twelve hour gap.

You can enter/leave the terminal at FCO if you like. No one will notice.

If CX are unable to print your boarding pass or check you in at HKG, but do check your bag through, make sure to show the FCO people your luggage receipt (you probably know this already).

At worse there is a left luggage store in terminal 3, six euros for 24 hours.

Hi - Question for the Cathay experts (first time trip in a few months); itinerary is YYZ - HKG - CGK - SYD, transferring from Cathay to Garuda in CGK with 10 hour layover, separate ticket for CGK - SYD of course. Cathay has an interline with Garuda but they obviously aren't Oneworld. Is it likely they'll check through for us do you think? Travelling in J if it matters (doesn't I don't think)

Hi so I have two tickets on separate PNRs

CX: HKG-TPE
MH: TPE-KUL

How exactly does this "through-check" work?
Is it possible to get my MH boarding pass in HKG
(i) if i check baggage through (I know bags should be tagged to KUL)
(ii) if i choose to go hand luggage only?

In theory yes you should be able to get your boarding pass in HKG.

However, even if you don't get your boarding pass, the bags should be tagged through to KUL. When you get to TPE, you go to the transfer desk and get your boarding pass there, and show them the baggage tag you were given in HKG.

Hi, I just need a double check.

Flying DAD-HKG on KA (avios ticket) in the morning, and then separate BA ticket HKG-LHR-FRA in the evening.
KA at DAD will check to FRA the luggage, if asked to, right?

Thank you!
